The Disc Golf Store went out of business and a bunch of space aliens took over.  They've been feeling worked by their state coordinator who keeps telling them not to sweat same-day tournaments 150-350 miles away.  So to make them feel a little more welcome on this alien planet, I did a couple of discs for them.  The design on the discs is similar their logo at www.flyingsaucerdg.com.

The blue space alien is surrounded by black and red stripes which maybe are showing up better in real life.

The one below with four space aliens I spun on a wheel.  I did not like how it spun out so I circularized the spin blobs.

I think the reason why these guys are sweating competing tournaments in Chicago and Ontario is because, from their perspective, whether their buddies go to the tournament in Chicago, Detroit or Ontario just depends upon how accurate they are in calculating entry vectors.  If you manage to land in a corn field in Iowa, its not like you are going to drive all the way to Detroit if there is something going on in Chicago.

What's your vector, Victor?

hugh

sweet dyes bruce....we might have to talk biz on these... how fast can you pump them out?? also very true about the vectors, we don't quite have the science down yet. i just want to have the best tournaments, can you blame me?

The reader will note how Hugh cleverly neither admits nor denies that Flying Saucer Disc Golf is a space alien controlled organization.

Discontinuum needs a cool logo.

this has gotten many compliments over the years

Too bad that one has the club name misspelled, similar to the first run of club stamped discs we did.....

No offense Jim, I'm not knocking your skills as a graphic artist or the current logo, but I do think that perhaps we need to consider a new or updated logo.

I've always thought that was cool website artwork but not really a logo.

Jon, during Star Trek last night I made my two go-to Buzzzes PDGA legal.  I've been thinking about what to add above the stock stamp and now I've got it:  "803.05."

Jo-Jo: I had an idea for how to do hand lettering like this without scratching the flight plate of the disc.  It worked out great on this one.

QuoteHow was it illegal?
Technically, having a Buzzz at a pdga tournament is not illegal but what you did to get that Buzzz might have violated the policy interpretting Rule 804.05(A)(4).  See, http://www.pdga.com/rules/index.php for further details.

Ah. I thought you were talking about something other than the disc's name, like the mold itself not being approved or something like that.

I did this bear paw disc yesterday.  I like the way it turned out but I should have been more patient.

If there are any Bear fans in this audience who would like a bear paw Crush with an Illinois Open ghost stamp, I'll take special orders.

I suppose Colorado Grizzlies fans could get one too, but I don't know Colorado Grizzly colors.

That actually might be a good logo/dyed disc for Parkside...our nickname is the Ranger Bears.

We just had a "Big Paw" tournament last fall. This spring we'll be having a "Spring Fling." If it changes to "Big PaW" I'll let you know.

You might be able to pay ransom for the grudge stump with one of those.

I did this disc this weekend.  It took a lot longer than a bear paw.  Anybody recognize this guy?  If not, go have a bowl of Frosted Flakes and think about it.
