Guys I've been thinking about a new disc and one that Im considering is the classic roc.  How similar is it to the Roc?  I compared them at the store and they are a little different in shape.  How do they fly?  Thanks for the help.

Just a question. How can you tell a San Marino Roc from the others?

Cool link Jay!! That site had some info on how to dye a disc also (I'll leave that to the talented people though).

There were no reviews on my favorite disc, "X-Clone". But who needs someone else's opinion if it's your favorite, right?

Classic Roc is my main putter, yes putter.  I can throw it flat at the chains from 120ft.  I use a CE Classic Roc for straight or slight left or right shots under 250 although I can throw it farther it is just easy to control with less speed.  A san marino roc has the same control as a classic but goes much farther.  If you need more info on rocs let me know I have 6 different ones in my bag.  The roc is getting me closer to Pro level golf....

Depends on how far you want to throw.  For something around 180 a classic roc or any putter for that matter will float in.  It also depends on the hole, like at Parkside off the deck #9 I use a stable Roc (CE Roc 2001 version) with anhyser to go left of the trees in the middle and it will come back to the basket.  KC Rocs are very unpredictable until you use them for a while.  The reason for this is that every run is a little different, the best run was the 8-time mold.  The nines were understable and held a good ani.  The tens had quite a few runs and some were stable others were not.  I just aquired 2 10 time with the 8-time mold, which they are calling a retooled 10time.  It can be a little confusing.  My best anhyser Roc disc is accually a beat up regular discontinuum roc, I use it for straight shots that need to end right.  Also, If anyone has old ontarios, Special Edition or San Marinos Rocs, I will gladly buy them from you at a good price or trade plastic with you, I have alot of good collectable disc that would make a good trade.

Yah, I know a few people that have a bunch of 8's but they are as coveted as San Marinos.  I know people that have over 50 San Marinos but will not part with them.....to often, I did get 3 but I cracked 2 of them so I only throw it when I know I will not hit a tree.  If anyone has a San Marino Roc I will pay top dollar Please e-mail me. I will throw it, it will not sit in a box like the many midnight flyers I have.

They were made in the 80's to early 90's and on the back they say San Marino this is where they were molded.  Others say Ontario or Rancho Cucamonga it is just where they were made.

Well here are some reviews.....

Classic Roc

Roc

Roc   KC Pro

Roc     Champion Edition

Roc Special Edition

Then there's also the San Marino Rocs, the Ontarios, and Classic CEs. Not to mention and this part I have only brief knowledge, but depending on the run they will fly differently as well.

If all else fails try posting on the PDGA boards, Mr. Dunnipace posts there and is really friendly.

I hear ya Van Master. And thanks for the links compliment I have nothing better at work to do then make things easy for the board navigators.

X-Clone huh? I have a Signature Series X-Clone that I haven't had time to throw much. Anything you can say about them?

On the Innova site they have the same discription for the Roc, Classic Roc, and KC Roc.  But Im sure that they fly slightly different.

tee_bird_tosser

Shawn is a classic roc or a kc roc better for anhyzers?

tee_bird_tosser

Thanks Im going for the classic roc.  I am looking for something to through shorter anhyzers (150-225 ft.).  I doubt that I could find an 8-time mold KC.

kyle

Just to add in some new info:  Dave D. from Innova stated on the PDGA boards that the upcoming 11x stamped KC rocs will be run from the original 8x mold.

A new favorite midrange of mine is the new CE Spyder.  I use it more than my Roc now and have taken about 3 strokes of my game since I started using it.  I have a max weight(175) in the pearl plastic which is a hair straighter than the lower weight clear plastic version.  It will also hold a pretty decent hyzer and can be turned over, though I don't really have enough control to do that consistently.

Never tried a classic Roc.
