I've got rocs in my bag, but they are a couple years old. I use them for midrange. A couple of pros told me they make good putters in the wind.

Glow rocs glow in the dark.

I don't know the other differences.

Shawn Fallon, paging Shawn Fallon! This one's for you.

(The guy carries like 12 different roc's in his bag).

Yeah I know, I sent Shawn a PM yesterday didn't get a reply so figured I post it here, plus I can get the opinion of a few people.

You forgot

CE Roc
CE Classic Roc
San Marino Roc

As far as what the difference is between each, I have no idea.  I think that the CE's are a little more understable than the DX.  The Glow Roc is the best damn disc, period!  That's my opinion at least.

I hadn't mentioned the CE Roc, CE Classic Roc, or the San Marino because these discs are no longer easily (or cheaply) available. The others are.

San Marinos are just an old DX Roc that was fabricated in San Marino, CA. Many of the later Roc molds were done in Rancho Cucamonga.

I have some 11X KC Rocs & DX Rocs

I find the new 11X's are more stable than DX.

I like the DX Rocs for short, straight shots with a slight fade at the end. They're also amazing for short turnovers when they're lighter and beat. They beat in fast though so treat them well ;)

I'm not so much a fan of the Classic Roc, I'm never sure exactly how far right it's going to move (rhbh) so I gave up on it and started using beat up DX Rocs in it's place. They feel too "puttery" for me, and wouldn't trust them in any sort of wind, whatsoever.

The KC Pro Roc is in my opinion the best disc ever. I needed to modify my throwing technique in order to throw these properly, but now that I have, I am in love with these discs. Very overstable when new, good for long drives, and mint once you beat it in. I love how the dome on these seems to get "beat in" with the disc.

I have one Super Roc but I don't care for it much, it's too flippy and flippy to me means inconsistancy. Sometimes it'll hyzer out, sometimes it won't. And the dome has too much give.

I like Glow Rocs as they seem to take more abuse than DX Rocs. I currently don't have any but they were always consistant flyers for me.

I've never thrown a Champion Fund Rasier Roc so I have no clue. Probably less dome than most Rocs and more overstable.

For the top three, I would select:

1. KC Pro
2. DX
3. Glo

Not sure if I helped or hurted the cause of this post, but just my two cents

It's a 180 White Super Roc with a Rainbow stamp, it is brand new, never thrown.

I had bought two from zone driven and only threw the orange one, which I just recently traded.

Have any Wizards or Rocs you don't throw?

Sorry for not replying sooner..  but here is my opinion of Rocs.

Best disc ever.....

When most people say that they are flipping their Rocs it is becasuse they have no spin on the disc and too much speed.  I can make my most understable disc...thrown flat...lots of spin go straight 280ft and then flip when the spin slows down.

list of cheap rocs available in order of most stable to least

Ching
11X
DX
classics

I have lightened my bag and only carry a few Rocs now...only when I'm having problems with my game will I carry lots of rocs to find my game again.

I am carring a beat 11x for straight shots or turnovers under 340....also forehand roller disc for short distances.  New worlds biggest DX for headwinds under 250 or long left to right anhysers under 420.  A glow CE for hysers.  Old school ce classic roc for straight shots and short turnovers under 240.  2-dx classic rocs for putting and short punch shots.

The new Candy Classic Rocs are much more stable then the older 2001-2 run.

San Marino Rocs hold the best straight line that I have ever thrown...If you can find a 3 ring, stiff one you got the best one.  Thing is they crack pretty easily....  It's a sad sight watching someone picking up the pieces of their San Marino.

For a tournament I will carry 4 different driving Rocs and 3 classic rocs for putting and approaches.  I throw mostly max weights with rocs.  And all vary slightly in stability.... If it is a calm day I will most likely throw only the same one disc for most shots.

Not sure if that helps, but thanks, this just reminded me that I need to pull out a new 11x from the stash.

forgot...

super rocs...beat in to quick, don't care for them.  Great grip through..  Too much hype.

Ontario Rocs...  good roc...have not had time to beat one of my new ones in yet.. still few available for around 20-25 bucks.  I believe they are Hero, Ontarios.

candy...start out stable and staaaaay stable looong time.   Most reliable Roc as it will not change so you can learn how it throws easier.  As with all Innova candy, the good stuff was in 2001-02.  it was stiffer.

Also, 8 time Rocs are right up there with San Marinos for great disc...they crack as well.

What about the "regular" KCs?

shawn

QuoteWhat about the "regular" KCs?
not sure what you mean by regular KC's...

My main roc is a KC 11 time, I put down 11X on the list.  If it is something different, let me throw it and check it out.  I love Rocs...some days I can throw my rocs farther then my drivers...still trying to figure it out.  You would think that drivers would go further...  Lately, I still can't grip a driver hard, since I dislocated my thumb, but I can grip a roc with the middle of my thumb instead....seems to be working.

11x KC.. I'm quick :)

Anyways, I myself have been able to throw my Rocs farther than the majority of my drives.. Weird phenomenon considering how slow the Roc flys..
