This is a large park with not a whole lot going on. Open space surround wetlands. Low spots in places hold casual water. Interesting is that there is a seperate parking lot that could be used for Disc Golfers. Approx 15 Spaces..This layout is just one a couple of layouts Ive done here. If anyone has other ideas please forward them over. Green Tees to Blue Targets.  Start at top left...LZ and Mundelein both forbid Pets on their PD Property. This is a great location for a Challenging Perminant Course.

I realize there's no exact scale here, but it seems like some of the baskets are too close to the next tee pad. I like courses that have 75 to 150 feet between the basket and the next tee. That's just a rough idea. Depending on terrain and vegetation that distance might need to be more or you might be able to have less.

For example, Bevier (original concrete) has optimal distance between tees and baskets. The alt tees have some areas that are a bit tight, but we've been working on those. Adler has ample room between most of the tees and baskets, but in some places there is way too much distance between the basket and next tee. And then between fairway 2 and tee 3 it is too tight. Fairfield is good except in the area around and between holes 4, 5, 6 and 10. A good example of tight tees being exceptable is also here. The tee pad on 16 is only about 40 - 50 feet from the basket on 15, but because of the trees there is no conflict. Same applies for 16 basket to 17 tee.

Will work on this again...Thank You for input... I found it to be a little tight in spots Its still a problem worth studying. How to make 9 Work.. Spring time will reveal how much park traffic exhists and amount of water the park retains. Also other projects will take priority over this one. Any one else see something here let the DiscBoard Know The Park is located in Lake Zurich South of Rt 22 ...take Midlothian Rd to end Left(east) on Rt 22 Approx one mile R on ?oakgrove Rd? Traffic Light Follow Rd to park...into Subdivision..

Any Ideas for 18 in Lake County ?

What are those woods on the West side of 94 between Half Day & 60? I look over at them twice a day & think about how cool it would be to put a course in there.

Looks like there may be some kind of day care or other business involving kids either on or adjacent to the property, based on what I can see while driving past between 40 & 80Mph.

Good Question ? add it to the list...How about a Temp Course on The Old Indian Valley Golf Course in Mundelein.. It has been sold to Developers But the Best Part Of The Course for DG will not be built for quite a while. 18 easy ! Temp Courses are interesting...Here one day gone tommorrow. Everything good in between..

Drove by there today on accident... North Park, Lincolnshire Park District. Lots of stuff in there, although the woods appear largely unused.

37.5 acres of 'passive' recreational opportunites. Sounds to me like an opportunity for an 18 hole mostly wooded course!

Just read on PFC's Site that they will be installing a course at ICC Jr. College and another course in Eureka.

Lincolnshire 18 would be tremendous for the Game in Lake County IL. The challenge of designing 18 instead of 9 is large. 1st board member or members survey the property and report on a new string results. If it looks good take it to the next level...if not ? Keep Vital Momentum Maintained. Wildwood Model of Development working with Park District could work again.

Trend towards 9 Hole park district courses in Lake County is dismal News in one respect.  Park Districts under pressure from Residents and/or Boards seem to gravitate towards quick fix scenarios.


A committment to 18 would be refreshing.

Scarcity of Property

Vernon Hills New Century Park can handle 18. Past (9 Hole) project at smaller park was cancelled after it was considered too tight ! Hope new trend doesnt reinvigorate them to build small.
