Shawn bailed on us to live in Charlotte - a warmer climate with many more courses within 100 miles.
ROAD TRIP!
I was thinking about a long weekend in late March or April, say a Thursday-Monday trip. If I do not have my Vanagon by then, we could rent a small RV or just pack in a car and drive. We could conceivably get there in 12 hours and play up to a dozen courses there (or stop and play several along the way).

Potential dates:
March 18-22
March 25-29
April 8-12
April 15-19

Anyone interested?
Ideas?

I figured in 3 days of playing here we can hit 6 courses within 50 minutes from my place.  Go to http://www.charlottedgc.com/ and check out photos of Renaissance...this course is amazing  3 holes were recently moved to add another 1400ft.  The photos are of the short course, we will play the Gold course.  We will also play Wintrop Gold, at a par 68 this is the site of the USDGC.   My favorite is Hornets Nest which is also only 15minutes away.  Others that are must play are Reedy Creek, Dickerson which has just been reconfigured and is having concrete poured this week and Stumpy Creek.

Their all great courses with lots of pines, cedars and huge pecan trees... add to that elevation and water hazards,  it reminds me of northern WI but a lot warmer.

You guys should just rent a minivan, it should only take 11 hours.  It's a nice drive through the blue ridge mts.

Also got a little pizza place 1 mile down the road that has 80 different micro's on tap.  It's called the "Mellow Mushroom"    B)    My 2 new favorite brews are Hobgoblin Ale and the Kind Ale....taste like...kind...bud.

Cool.
Can we tentatively plan on March 25-29?

Scenario 1: We can leave on Thursday early morning, get there for dinner. Play Fri, Sat, Sun, and drive back Monday morning.

Scenario 2: We leave Thursday early morning, stop in Asheville to play Richmond Hill (excellent 18-holer), get to Charlotte in time for drinks or glow round.  Play Fri, Sat, and drive back Sunday (perhaps after breakfast and a round).

I'm up for any variation on this theme.  ^_^

Jim,  Craig had to cancel his flight down here due to too much work coming in to his sign company.  So he is looking to come down when you drive down.  So if you can contact him...  Paul K. and Tim S. are flying in tomorrow for the weekend, should be great weather in the mid 50's.

Had a great time with the boys down here last weekend.  We played about 4 rounds a day.  The only one to lose any disc was me, at Winthrop...3 disc on one hole, triple circle 10.   Craig is flying down on March 25th.  Jim, If you are still planning on coming down, can you come same time as Craig...as I don't want to miss much more work.

Should be in the 60's by Thursday...  Crappy outside now, which is good, because I need the rest after this past weekend.

i'll be heading southeast sometime late fall/early winter; going to atlanta, and possibly to augusta to see the new disc golf center.  maybe could combine the trips and hit n.c. and ga.?

still very tentative on the time frame, but will probably drive.
