The board has been discussing 2005 memberships & bag tags. We are thinking about having tags made that would be totally unique to the disc golf scene. They will be really cool if we order them. We are trying to get an idea of who is going to renew or join the club for the first time in 2005. If we have a pretty good idea how many people are interested, we'll probably go thru on this deal. We cannot afford to overstock on these tags & it cost too much to have small orders done.

Membership is $15.00 & includes this bag tag.

Please post if you are interested so we can get some solid #'s.

I am planning on joining for 2005 and was planning to bring $ Sunday for membership and Widdershins.  I'll be glad to pay for the tag to support the club.  However,  those of you who have played with me know that I am really not up for the challenge unless there is a pretty signficant handicap.  See you there (with gloves based on the forecast).

We got pics on this new bag tag? It's not going to sway me one way or another. Just curious.

Not yet, as we haven't finalized the tag or design yet.

Lets just leave it at the tag won't be laminated paper again.

due to the lack of a players pack for Junior's at the Discontinuum Blast I feel I can not in good conscience renew my membership in 2005.   B)

Dan & Brett mentioned an idea for initial bag tags that I think is a good one.

How about, when the tags are ready, having an extra round after leagues (in January, I guess   , so maybe just 9 or 12 holes) for the members who are in by that point. Then the first 10 tags (for example) would go to those 10 players in scoring order. Makes it a little less random.
thanks,

I'm a bigger fan of the random distribution method, personally.

The Waterford Brakels are likely to do a family membership, unless we join the Danimal Disc Golf Continuum instead.

I'm going to do the family membership as well.  I did a little geneology study of the Michler family today and discovered that I'm a Brakel 5 times removed!!!  So how much do I get off of my membership?

We can do random for everybody who isn't at the initial tag round.  But, the top tags will go to whoever shows up for the initial tag round, which should ensure that the top tags stay close to the Discontinuum Home Base at the start of the year. Not that our long distance members can't win the good tags eventually, but its always nice if the people who play for them all the time can have the chance to defend the low numbers.

I like the idea of having a tag kick-off event.

I am considering joining in 2005. Right now, my main concern is that I live in Schaumburg, so, I wouldn't be available for a lot of stuff the club does. I do however, like the idea of promoting the sport and getting involved with som area players. Right now I am just trying to figure out if I would be able to make any of the normal club activites you have. I also look at it that for $15 what the heck. It can't hurt to help out a local club.

Thanks for the consideration. Any support helps.

By the end of the week I should be finding out if we will be hosting a new tournament near you. We are also running an event at Streamwood this year.

With a club membership you get a bag tag, access to the club membrs only section on the message board, discounts on club stock discs, & a $5.00 rebate when paying PDGA Membership thru the club. Club members can also take the PDGA Officials Exam for free if a PDGA member.

We run our best shot doubles on Sundays @ 10:00am. I occassionaly head to Streamwood Leagues & Lombard Leagues.

In addition to that, club members also can get discounts through a couple online vendors in the event we don't have something in stock you want/need.

Dude!  Schaumburg isn't that far.  You can drive an hour to come play our tourneys and stuff.  Just join buddy  :D   You'll get to know some of us and maybe we can hook up for rounds at streamwood or somewhere else that is a little closer to you.  Most people have to drive at least 30 min. to get to Bevier.

OK - OK - I'm sold! I will join in 2005. And, no, Schaumburg isn't that far, It's not the tournaments (weekend things) I was worried about as much as the regular club meetings. It will be tough for me to get to any meetings that are during the week. I'll be on the lookout for the 2005 registration.

FWIW, we're only doing meetings at my place during the week from May - October (essentially Tournament season). This hasn't been decided yet but my guess is that we'll be moving back to Pizza Slut for our meetings in November. Traditionally those have been the 2nd Sunday of the month immediately following Best Shot.

Regarding membership, you can join for 2005 now and get the remainder of 2004 plus a 2004 tag for free.
