January 16th Club Meeting Minutes
Pizza Hut in beautiful Waukegan, IL

Those in attendance:  KVN, Dan M., Brett C., Jon B., Mitch, Mike C., Jose, Tom S., Adrian Jr., Maddisen B., Becky B., Damon S., Mirthage, Mike (Airspuds) W., Nick F.

1)  Finances/Club Stock:

Club has about $1,000 in the bank and has 33 members already registered for 2005.

2)  Club has received basket parts and we now own 2 completed portable Mach II baskets.

3)  Bag Tags 2005

Tags for 2005 are in and were handed out to people in attendance at leagues on 1/16.  They were handed out randomly.  Professional disc golfer Tom Schodtler drew Tag #1.  The club has 56 tags currently and they will be handed out randomly to all new members.  Tag Challenge for 2005 is for fun and pride and no prizes will be handed out at the end of the year.

4)  Business Cards

Business cards are being made for Jon and Brett.  Examples of what the cards will look like were passed around.  Basically they had name, website address, email, pdga #, etc...

5)  Lake County Golf Expo

Club will have a disc golf booth at CLC for this event again.  $35 fee will be paid to set up.  Volunteers will be needed.  KVN noted that he had already volunteered to participate in this event.  Jon and Brett ran it last year.  The booth is simply to promote the game of disc golf.

6)  Club Invitational Tournament

An event for club members only is being worked out.  It is suggested that it be run as a D-Tier PDGA event at Adler Park and Warren Township with 18 holes at each.  It would be trophy only and it was also suggested that the entry fee ($2) would be paid by the club, so the event would be FREE to play for all club members.

7)  website

Website had over 4 million hits in 2004.  A new high.

8 )  2005 IOS

See the 2005 IOS thread for info.  Mitch volunteered to give a memorial speech for Dave Witten at one of the events.  Jon suggested that a special CTP might be given out in memory of Dave Witten at one of the events.

Meeting was alot of fun and there was a great turnout.  Hope to see everybody there next month for pizza again!

Quote8 )  2005 IOS

See the 2005 IOS thread for info.  Mitch volunteered to give a memorial speech for Dave Witten at one of the events.  Jon suggested that a special CTP might be given out in memory of Dave Witten at one of the events.
I suggested that Mitch might want to put together a CTP based on what would be the best memorial for Blaster. i.e. if he had a favorite hole or whatever. I also suggested that he might be able to buy a custom ctp plaque from Kira Brakel if he likes that design.

Do I get  cool fancy shirt for joining this year?

No dude, no free shirt with club membership, sorry.  However you can order one through the club if you desire to purchase a club polo.

On a side note, Brett wasn't a huge fan of his polos, but did like the logo, so he ordered some different shirts for himself through the same company with the same Discontinuum logo.

I liked my polos & think they look cool but they didn't fit very well. I decided to make another order. I ended up ordering some heavier polos that ran larger in size. I'm hoping they will be here soon.

How much will a polo run?  Do you have any T-shirts?

QuoteHow much will a polo run?  Do you have any T-shirts?
Below are some examples of the order I placed. The price will vary with the quality of shirt you order. I ordered a couple of different style polos & a sweat shirt. You can order polos, sweat shirts, hats, t-shirts, & pretty much anything else you want.  One thing that made this more expensive is that we do not get the bulk discount with the logos. He has changed his policy with the logo. I had to order all 3 with with the same logo color. I got black lettering & a black disc. The company he worked with got really pissed with the first order.  They had to change the thread after every shirt. They were not happy.

Shirt Cost (Shirt varies with what style & type)
$23.50 XL White/Black Polo
$19.90 XL Sports Grey Polo
$10.20 XL Ash Heather Sweatshirt

Add
Each logo costs $6.75
+ Tax

Quote2)  Club has received basket parts and we now own 2 completed portable Mach II baskets.

Dan & I completed the 2nd basket this weekend. We didn't cut the pole on this one in case we have to use it in the future. The club now has 2 temp baskets.

Any word on the business cards?
