Hey all.  Im in Crystal Lake and I mainly play at Lippold.  Im looking for someone to play daily or weekly with.  Maybe even a tournament for fun.  Im not very experienced, but Im extremely dedicated.  Im not sure where I fall on the skill chart.  But assuming every hole is a par 3 at lippold, I can pretty much par the course.
If anyone wants to play a few rounds for fun, we'll just set a date.

My advice to you dark12 is to start showing up at leagues consistently.  I think Lippold has leagues on saturday afternoons during the winter and then on Monday nights during the warmer months.  This will allow you to get to know some of the players who play alot and maybe get to know when they play their casual rounds.  I know there are alot of players out at Lippold, so hopefully you'll have good luck meeting people!  I know that I moved to this area in August of '03 and the only way I got to know any disc golfers was through leagues.  Unfortunately, the course that I lived closest to (Waukegan) got very little casual play during the week, so there weren't any playing partners.  I think you'll have better luck in Crystal Lake.

The leagues are on Sat. at about 2:00 during the winter and Monday at 6:00 during the summer.  The Monday leagues will start after the time change.

Look for someone named Fred Vroman out there.  Most people out there with bags, that look like they know what they are doing will know him.

Also Round Lake has leagues at 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays.  The Round Lake leagues are an upper and lower pool, so you will have a good chance at having a good partner out there.

oh sweet.  Thanks so much for the advice.  I had no idea there were leagues like that.  So do I have to sign for them?  Bring cash?

All of the area leagues are the best shot random draw doubles type... no partner required. Some leagues, such as our Sunday morning doubles in Waukegan, divide up the players into more skilled vs. less skilled pools then partner players up from each pool. Other leagues are pure random draw where its possible for teams made up of very skilled people to exist.

Its pretty much pay as you go. Some, such as ours, do track points for overall prizes while others are purely week to week. All have weekly cash payouts for the top spots.
Don't forget your towel!

Oh, we have a couple guys who travel to our neck of the woods for Sundays. If you ever run into Tom or Jose out at Lippold they're Sunday morning regulars.

sweet!  I'd also recommend Libertyville Leagues on Tuesday nights starting after the time change.  They also match less skilled players with more skilled players.

I am hoping to get to Lippold for doubles next Monday, the 23rd.  THis is, of course, weather permitting.  6 right?
