Glow Disc

Is anyone interested in playing a Glow Disc League on Saturday nights at Darkside and Bevier?  The format I propose would be single play with points awarded for the first three spots (10,5,3) and 1 point just for showing up.  We'd alternate between Parkside and Bevier each week (provided it's leagal at Bevier or everyone's willing to make a "donation" to the WPD).  Once we figure out how many people would be interested, I figure we can discuss the entry feeS and payouts.



This is all just something I whipped up this morning, so it's totally open for discussion.  I remember earlier this year that a few guys said they'd be in for something like this.  I figure what better time than now to do it, eh?

I think the concept is a great one. As far as ability to throw glow at Bevier, AFAIK, the park officially closes at sundown now and then 9 once the shelter is officially open. So, we'd probably need the blessing of the parks as you alluded to, plus having the police notified that we have permission from Trigg to do this.

It could be a hassle of red tape.



Parkside, as most of us are probably aware, is open for play until at least 2AM. We ran into a cop the last time we talked & he seemed more amazed that people play at night versus wanting to hassle us for 'trespassing'.

I will continue to badger Mike Trigg, and say that this is a one-time event.

At Darkside, Craig told me that the course now officially closes at 10pm. which can allow for one round w/o light.

I think both are great ideas, we just need to mkae the powers that be swallow it, or do it on the lamb.

I thought that because the campus was open until 2 am that the course was as well.  I wonder when the new rules went into effect.  HMMM.  Maybe I'll do some double checking.

Well, I called the student activites number listed in the phone book to ask when the course closes.  The lady seemed to think I was a little nutty for wanting to play disc golf at night, but I did manage to find out that according to the Student Activities Office the course does not close after 10pm.  She told me point blank that it does not close, and we can use it anytime, day or night.  So if nothing else, we can have a night league at Darkside for sure.
