Hey disc golf fanatics!

I am relatively new to Chicago, and as of yet I haven't found/played any good courses in the Chicagoland area.  I played two in Highland Park -Centennial and another on Clavey road.  Also ones in Lombard and Lincolnwood.  So far they also seem pretty lame.  No offense, I guess I just mean they are standard, short, and uniform.

I have three questions:
(1) Where is in your opinion the best course(s) in Chicagoland.  Within an hour.
(2) What course is closest to the Northside (Lakeview)
(3) Where is/are the best disc golf store(s)?  Are there any? Preferably, Northside?

Thanks for your help.  I'm totally jonesing to play.  My skills have suffered greatly since moving here.

I mean, come on.  You think Lincoln Park could have at least one nine hole course!

i think your best bet is the Madison Meadows course in Lombard.  This is a good long 19 hole course.  Also you can travel down to Mokena and play Shady Oaks which is a very very nice 27 hole course.  If your in Lincoln Park though, your gonna have to drive a bit no matter where u go to play.

Shady Oaks is actually Streamwood. Mokena's course is just called 'The Oaks'.

I don't know of any course in "Lincolnwood" though.
thanks,

Edgebrook is good, although its pay to play. Travel a little over an hour North & play UW-Parkside in Kenosha. They have glow doubles every Friday night, year round.

there's also a little hidden gem called "Willow Stream" thats located a few blocks from my apartment.  this course is great if u want to land a small jet on the tee pads.  plenty of room!

The very best disc golf store in all of Chicagoland is the spread we set up for the IOS.  IOS #5 will be at Shady Oaks Park in Streamwood on August 13 and 14.  We bring 700-800 discs to a tournament so we might have what you need.

Anna Page park in Rockford is worth the drive from Chicago since they have two good 18 hole courses.

When I lived in Lincoln Park I didn't play disc golf as much and played a lot of ultimate.  It was less driving and the summer league was great.  The only problem is that it is hard to play both at a higher level since the two sports require a different throwing style.

Thanks for the info.

I think I meant to say Libertyville instead of Lincolnwood....

Yah, living where you are you're gonna have to drive pretty much no matter what. The Joliet area has several courses, so it can maximize your discing time. Channahon, West, Shorewood, and Mokena.(skip New Lenox) Ok, Mokena is a bit out of the way of the rest of those, but I would definetly say make the trip out there. Shorewood now has cement tees, and Channy has 1/2 put in, with the other half due to be poured in the next few weeks, I believe.
