i can throw a 280' side arm and i realize i need to switch to back hand.(thanks to the help from the side arm posting) What is a good disk ( i already have a 175 champian beast) and how do i throw it far.

You can find threads on this here [I think] and at pdga.com.  Dave's Distance Secrets at pdga.com took me from 275 out to 350 with occasional longer drives.  The thread is probably about 100 pages.  Just read Dave's stuff.

Dave Dunipace is a past distance champ and a co-owner of Innova.  He coaches all of his sponsored pros who are coachable, which is one reason why the Innova team kicks Discraft's butt.  It is not the disc, it is the coach.

The 175 Beast is a fine disc for distance if it matches your throwing style.

Bob if the beast cuts hard left for you, while throwing back hand and you just want more distance, pick up a Sidewinder or some other disk that has low stability and good glide.  If you want to learn how to throw backhand the right way throw a Roc or a Buzz.  Both are mid-range discs that are great for learning with.  The distance between a driver and a mid-range for you will be probably 20-40 feet.

I would also try to get a lighter weight when you are just starting   like a 165 or 150 gram.   Grip the rim hard and throw it like you mean it.  Good Luck!
