If any of you bought First Run 150 Flicks from me last fall and have found them to be too flippy or too overstable or just not the disc for you, Kelsey would be hapy to refund your money if you return the disc.  She will also trade you straight up for Champion or Z anything in my stock.  And you would be helping her out at Women's Nationals.

well, I've only got one, and she can't have it  :P  but I can see why she likes them.

Is there something wrong with the 2nd+ run(s)?

(edit) Unless you've got some 10x KC Teebirds laying around, then maybe we can talk.  B)
thanks,

The second runs seem to be more overstable than the first runs.

The second runs are overstable.  We are going to try beating the snot out of a second run.  If it won't tell us where the first runs are, then we'll beat the snot out of Damon and Jon.

We really beat the snot out of an overstable 150 Flick today.  We threw it into the ground, threw spikes with it, folded it backwards, and generally totally abused it.  The good news is that these discs are really, really durable.  Except, that it the bad news too!

We figured out two discs that might substitute, a blue 150 DX Firebird.  The red was true to Innova red and overstable!  Or a 150 Champion Orc.  Unfortunately I did not have a 150 Champion Orc and currently neither does Innova.

Still, if you have a 150 First Run Flick [and not red] and have no use for it, I'll buy it back.

This is why either you like me or you hate me:

I went up to Discraft's Pad Timmons yesterday and mentioned that the new 150 Flicks were way more stable than the First Runs.  Pad said, "Yeah, aren't those nice?  Those are perfect now!"  I said, "No, the First Run was Kelsey's go-to driver and now she has switched to darkside plastic for her go-to driver."  I said, "She sells more Discraft at our tournaments than any other player, and you are discontinuing or tweaking every disc in her bag."  Then I said to Kelsey, "Show Pad how nicely that new disc you have flies, and she threw a 150 T-Bird up the hill and out of sight and Pad says, "Wow.  She has gotten good!"

So Kelsey now has some new 150 First Run Flicks. Kelsey loves me.  I have to assume Pad hates me because they came from his personal private stash!

I thought all discraft discs flew the same regaurdless of the run # :D

Diana talked to Jim Kenner today about how the more recent 150 Flicks were not like the originals.  Jim seemed a little perturbed.  He is a perfectionist and is detail oriented regarding design and production of discs.

So you can be the one they will blame when the third generation 150 Flicks are not overstable enough.

It seems that with a few models lately this statement is no longer true. Hopefully it is not a trend because it is what I like about throwing mostly discraft. Even so, I'm now throwing 3 manufacturers discs which is up from only 1 last year. I'm throwing the Innova Sidewinder for an understable driver and the QK is my new go to driver.

Anyway, Kelsey is still looking for First Run 150 Flicks.

The later runs are a great driver if you have normal adult male advanced amateur strength power.

After I bought a gram scale we learned that the initial First Runs came out in the 144-148 range.  The latter first runs and other runs came out mostly 150+.  So at some point they must have decided they were coming out too light.  Jim Kenner says the way they are now is the way they intended to make them.

Anyway, if you got one of the light, early flippy ones, here's some trade bait:  I have a D-Buzzz that feels like it is 200 grams.  I have not weighed it yet.  It feels like the heaviest Buzzz ever made.  I'll weigh it if anyone is interested.

I have one 150 Flick left and, sorry Kelsey, I'm keeping it.
The extra lightness, combined with its overstability, make it a great specialty disc.

However, I do have a regular tye-dye first run Flick marked at 172g. It has always felt heavier and now Bruce's investigation made me curious. After checking, we found it actually weighs 179g.
