What a great course & great tournament. I'm glad I got a chance to play this event. The staff did a fantastic job.

The course is awesome! You cannot beat the Toboggan @ Kensington Metro Park. The elevation is unbelievable. Some of those uphill shots are just brutal & throwing down #1 & #3 is awesome. You need to be able to manage the course on many holes making great placment shots then upshots to take 3's. There were some birdie holes but they still took great shots to get.

For a $75.00 entry fee you cannot beat this tournament. The player pack included several cool discs & a nice pullover.  There was bottled water out on the course on Thursday for the practice rounds. During the rounds on Fri, Sat, & Sun there was bottled water and snacks at 3 different places on the course. I did not have to buy breakfast or lunch on Fri, Sat, or Sun. They had a huge variety of food & drinks for anyone that participated. That included caddies as well. Following each day there were some fun games that Mark Ellis ran. They gave away at least 3 boxes of discs and a bunch of other stuff at these games. It was much needed fun after blowing up on Friday  . I'm so glad I did not participate in speed golf :o . Mike Robinson looked like he was going to die. He puked several times.   .

I higly recommend attending this event. Next year the IOS will have a qualifying tournament for this event. There were lots of good players and you'll find out where you are compared to them.

When I caddied for Bruce on that course at the 2000 Worlds I told him, after we walked down the big hill the first time (we parked up there), that the next time I was going to walk up that hill was on our way back to the car!  :D

So, Bruce had to caddy for himself on a couple of holes while I sat in my chair at the bottom of the hill.

This is not a course that is in the ground all the time. It is only there for the USADGC, so the rough is really rough! When you are off the fairway you are in neck deep doo doo most of the time. It challenges you with elevation, distance and precision. Very challenging course.

The Toboggan course is the most challenging course I've ever played, although I've heard that Nockamixon and that course in North Carolina are tougher.  It is both physically challenging and emotionally challenging.  There are no easy 2s.  If you don't go for any risky 2s, there are about 6 holes that will willingly give up a 3 if you are good and polite.  The other 12 holes are a struggle to get a 3 except the few where you have to play well to get a 4.

My thought about qualifying for [qualified once] and playing the USADGC [have not] is that I'm not certain whether I'd enjoy getting my ass kicked by that course three days in a row.  It is a great tournament.  I enjoyed watching Brett get his ass kicked!  I would have enjoyed it more if he would have whupped the course.

The winner, Adam Olsen, was also the winner of the IOS at Rockford. I had a chance to play with him the second round. Awesome guy.

Congrats to all who participated and represented DISContinuum!

Yes, it was a rough round. I was a bummed that my worst round of the year had to come the first round of this tournament but !@#$ happens.

Bruce had no idea what he was getting himself into when he volunteered to spot for me. He was in the rough all day  . I hit the fairway on 2 of the 18 holes.

i definitely proved it was emotionally challenging as i let it get to me on the last hole of the tournament.  i probably acted slightly less than 25  when i started chucking my putter into the woods a couple times to take a 6 on an easy par hole to finish the tournament.  i guess at the time it seemed like the thing to do along with throwing my bag down the hill     i never said i was smart i don't think.  can't wait to try again next year and hopefully be in the top 10 next time.

It wasn't so much the spotting as it was the searching for the disc after the spotting.  This is what I'll remember from the weekend:

Brett: Geez, I'm one for ten on hitting fairways so far!
Bruce: Which of those last ten drives are you calling in the fairway?
Brett: That last one.
Bruce: You were in knee high grass!
Brett: Yeah, but I could see the basket.

When he said that I thought he was thinking he was in the fairway on hole 2.  He was in a fairway on hole 2.  It was hole 13's fairway!
