O.K. I have a question.

How does a person get a disc golf program started in their school? I know some kids at school who either play disc golf or are intrested in playing disc golf. I heard that Lincoln Way has a team/club, and I know some kids at JCA that think a club would be awesome. How hard could it be to start one? Do any of the schools up north have teams?

I would talk to your Athletic Director & have him contact another school that has a program or the person responsible for overseeing clubs. If that doesn't work, get it started yourself. It shouldn't be too hard to start one.

You will need a sponsor for your club.  Ask a teacher that you think would be willing to sponsor the club.  Good luck.

I was asking because I really like disc golf and I want to get my friends involved. My school has alot of weird sports like badminton. I'm not dissing badminton but I personally think disc golf is better.

So, from what I've been reading, I have to get a sponsor, get fifty or so stamped discs and write my A.D. Doesn't seem that bad...

What if my A.D. or the school board says no? Are all my dreams shot down?

I hope not... :(

through terry miller and the discraft club deal, im not saying thats a requirement but just something we are doing.  my school is also enormous so we have a ton of clubs and seems like your school may not have so many, and im not sure if disc golf is an ihsa sport, so i dont think that you guys could find too many people to compete with, but if you want our clubs can duke it out.  also my school is adding disc golf into the curriculum for one of the gym classes, so they are gonna help pay for the discs i think

I am currently working on a compitition between shcools. You need to get the PE teachers involved. I installed a course at Dallas City Elementry and got them 30 disc for PE classes. I gave the PE teacher his own set of disc and that is helping. He loves to play now and is getting the kids pumped about disc golf. If you would like your school to be involved please let me know.

It would be hard for me to do. I'm in ROTC and I don't know any P.E. teachers.
