They are definately domier than the Champions, but not as much as the Pro. It sure has a nice feel to them. Just like the SB Roc. Enjoy.

Also got my CFR Wraiths. Gonna test them at lunch. SWEET.   8)

Got'm, threw'm, love'm! The Wraiths are way more overstable than the Pro version.

The SB Orc has a much better glide than the Champion ( in my opinion.)
Too much snap and they do flip.

This has become a disc review.

why are my wraiths taking so long?  son of a bitch i hoped they'd be here today.

a disc doesn't flip from too much snap...  a disc will  flip from too much arm speed and not enough snap (spin).

To much snap... if there is such a thing..  will make the disc go straight... long time.

question for you..  How can a disc be way more overstable and have more glide?
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

i'm pretty sure juan meant snap as in putting too much on it and has nothing to do with how much spin is put on the disc.

as far as your question is concerned:  juan said the Wraiths are more overstable and the SB Orcs have more glide.  those are 2 different discs.

If you put a TON of snap on a disc it is generally going to be stable...  But some discs will be understable at very high speeds no matter how much snap you put on them.  Either way, most of the time when someone turns over a disc its because they had too much off-axis torque on it.

Anyways, I got my 2 SB Orcs in the mail and got a chance to throw one of them at a course out in Iowa City (which was one of the better courses I have ever played, by the way).  First throw with the disc was on a 390' hole and I cleared the basket by a good 40 feet.  I ended up throwing it a few times off the tee and it went at or past the 400' mark each time.  I think I found my new distance driver.  I would say it is right inbetween the pro and champion orcs in stability.  Definitely has more glide than the regular champion orc but is just as fast.  It is just stable enough at high speeds to be reliable for me when I am really trying to throw hard.  Way more consistent for me than my pro orc or starfire.  I am throwing my pro plastic less and less lately, as I'm finding that I need a lot of room for the discs to make a big S path and I'm not consistently getting them to turn how I'd like.  Sticking to Champ. Orcs and CE Leopards from now on for the most part.

I've thrown my 174g CFR Wraith for the last week now. I've added it to the arsenal and threw it several times in tournament play this past weekend. It is a little more overstable then my most overstabe Champion Orc. It has not been the magical distance finder for me ;) , but it is fast and does hold up fairly well in the wind. I'm throwing it pretty much the same distance as my Champion Orc but with more predictability. I like this disc a lot!

Didn't want to start a new thread so I'm posting here:

Gateway's new endeavors: The Odyssey Take a look HERE

I have a prototype of this disc as well as others that the "molder" has produced. According to the representative for the company, they are merging with Gateway and possibly Ching. There is a mold of the Odyssey that is a putter version. I'll take some pics and post either today or tomorrow. You can take a look at their website also, Questat.com

If anyone will be at the Parkside course this weekend let me know. I'll try and find you and have you throw the discs to get some feedback.

I saw the Odyssey stuff up there about a week ago, what a unique idea!  What are the 2 different types of plastic?  It looks like it would be the Z/Champ type of dome and then pro/x rim?

I have one of each of these.  The manufacturing plant that Gateway is using is very close to Fairfield.  There were a couple of guys out there today with these.  I have posted pics in the gallery at this link:  http://stickitdg.com/gallery/DiscMonkeypics?page=1

The Scream throws very stable and far.  Lip reminds me of the new Discraft Surge a little bit.  The Odyssey is weird.  The putter is understable, but oddly floaty and very straight.  The one in the pics is 150 class.  With the 2 pcs of plastic, it leaves a weird lip on the underside of the disc I don't know if I like.  I do like the scream, though.  I think once it beats in a little, it will be a nice, straight, long distance disc.  Brett was out there today and got to throw them too.  KVN and I were lucky enough to get a couple to try out.  And yes, the guys said they would be making Ching's new proto's as well.  I'll at least have the Scream on my for now, so if you see me and want to throw it, let me know.   ;D

Definitely some interesting discs. The scream was a stable disc.

Just not my cup of tee. I've been throwing champ so long I don't like the grippy feel.

I didn't know the name of the "Scream" disc, thanks.

The flight plate of the Odyssey and Putter is not like Z or Champion plastic...it feels like just regular plastic, almost like a stiffer plexiglass. The plastic on the rim of the Putter is similar to a Soft Challenger or JK Aviar, pretty soft. Odyssey rim is pretty stiff.

The Scream has a very "poppy" top and a hard to describe plastic. It feels pretty slick, not very grippy. It did fly pretty nice.

The Putter held a nice anhyzer line. Odyssey a good straight flyer.

Nope, that's the color of the plastic.  Pretty cool swirl effects from injecting the different colors at different times in the molding process.  The Odyssey and Putter look dirty kinda, but that's just two different colors of plastic.

where the two differnet plastics meet is where I grip the disc, on the Night Hawk and the other one like it.  It was wierd to throw and I doubt that I would throw them.  Unlike Brett I did like the plastic of the disc that was one solid piece.  It was almost like the gumputt disc,

Played a bunch with the driver today and I like it a lot.  Threw it next to a DX Wraith and ESP Surge and it was right there with both of them distance wise.  I had to start it with a little more hyzer than the other two (it's a little more understable than the other 2), but it s'd a little nicer.  It was slower than both, but had more glide.  The plastic I like a lot too.  Very grippy and great when a little wet.  If approved by the PDGA and made in any of Gateway's normal plastics, it should be a nice addition to their line.

The other two are just too weird in my hand to bother throwing.

I was talking about the DYEnamic discs...pretty sweet.

One of the discs that we were testing had the inner plastic piece shatter. Did you guys see the disc that had nearly a flat lip and a large flight plate? It hit a tree and SMASH!

Had some problems with grip on the Odyssey and Putter. Just felt uncomfortable. The Scream did seem to fly pretty nice even into a headwind. I thought it to be very stable. Not as "slick" feeling as I thought. Don't think I would purchase any of them, though.
