UNDERstable disc

I throw RHBH and I am looking for a mid range disc that is very understable.  I want to be able to throw a nice anhyzer with very little fade at the end.  What do you throw in this situation.

I was thinking about getting a z-glide or Champ. Stingray but I read that the Champ. Stingrays are discontinued because of mold issues.  I know that there are a lot out there that are understable but I need opinions of what you guys use.

I throw a 177G Roc. It's very old & very beat. I throw it identical to my overtable 180G. It will continue to anhyzer the entire flight & never comes out.

I actually carry 4 Rocs. Hyzyer, Straight, Slightly beat, & very beat.

What I use may not be effective for you depending on what you throw as an overstable midrange or a neutral midrange. I throw a Wasp for overstable, a Buzzz for neutral and a Breeze for understable.

Discraft Breeze is probably the most understable midrange i've thrown.  Possibly the S Element.

I like my Stratus for anhyzer midrange holes.

Get a Roc and throw it against a tree a hundreds times to get a nice TACOing effect. Presto... Nice understable disc.

I think I throw left handed for that shot!  All of my puppets throw the Breeze.  A beat up D-Buzzz is really good for that too.

How about using a much lighter version of what you normally throw. Say a 165-170 versus a 180g.

I was looking for the same thing for a while...  I tried the Glide, Breeze, Coyote, Comet, and a few others.  Nothing worked better than my really old, beat KC Roc.

The champ stingray isn't that understable in my opinion, it's actually a pretty straight flyer. It would be better to get a DX version that can get beat up. For short annie's. I use a Stratus or my Aviar.

The Z Glide is VERY understable.  I have 2 for sale for 5 bucks each if u want one.

What weights Dan?  I let one of the open players try my 175g Z-Glide in Lockport.  First time he used it on hole 16, it banked in smoothly and hit the pole.  He said he's going to pick one up.  I like the fact that it flies a good distance while maintaining it's glidepath with little effort.  My other choices are the Status and the Breeze.  I do have a beat up Stratus and it banks right as soon as it leaves the hand.

The champ Stingray will flex out on you on long shots.  It does hold an anhyzer pretty well, though and they have a red one at the gas station north of Faifield park.

I have a lot of success with my X xpress.  It holds an anhyzer a loooong way and just glides straight at the end.

A lighter weight Panther thrown hard enough will go right or if you put enough anhyzer on it it holds the line pretty well.

The Panther and the Breeze are essentially the same disc.  The Panther has a very small bead.  Otherwise they look identical.

I got a max weight champion panther that will hold a ani route quite well...  goes a few feet more then my roc..  I only bring it out when I play a course that has a hole around the 330- 350 range that needs a slow left to right (rhbh) shot...   Best thing to do is use a few roc or roc like copy from some other company and bash then in so you have different grades of stability with the same disc...

Also, don't use to many different models of disc's...  Learn the disc that you have..  I use 2-4 of the same model and same weight, just different stages of stability.   One will hyser, go straight or fade a certain amount...  Just pick the one for the distance and route you want to take.

I use a old beatup 165g Roc for anhyzers with no left fade and a slightly beat up 170g Hawkeye for gentle fade at the end. But, almost any mid-range i have ever thrown i have been able to anie it and with any of the regular plastic it will be more stable understable as you beat it up. so ultimately if i were you i would get a Roc and whip it against a tree as hard as you can until it starts to fly straight then it will anie easily.

Since moving up to Kenosha I have converted to the ROC, thanks to Shawn.  I would agree with what is said, get a few Rocs or something like the Roc and beat the snot out of one quickly and play with ones that have different stability.

Just throw the disc straight up into the air over and over again. Hitting the ground is just as good. This will save the severe scuffing and dings trees will produce.
