After I did the sanctioning agreements I realized we put this one in September, very close to the first day of fall.  So I used my godlike powers as a moderator and shut down the other poll and close the topic.  I was trying to figure out how to delete the topic, but decided that was not anything I should do half-assed.

we should have another poll where the question is "If you were the TD, what would you name the tournament?".  if i saw this poll on someone else's site i'd vote for the most ridiculous one probably which would explain why Aurora Borealis has so many votes.  In what way is the Aurora Borealis related to the disc golf tournament?

Well, Aurora Borealis refers to a celestial phenomenon.  Since we are throwing discs into the air its got a bit, ok a small bit, of relevance.  However, if we go with Dan's suggestion, it appears that we will all have to throw minis based on the link he provided. :P

Oh yeah! Night putting. I think I might be able to make her a nice outfit outta minis & dental floss!

Also, isn't Aurora the "City of Lights" so the Aurora Borealis, being a natural phenomenon dealing with light, would be a good choice.  Plus I think the logos for the tourney disc could be really cool.

 I bet we could raise the entry fee if that were the case & a few other things may be rising if she were to attend.

Not to be picky, but on the 2006 thread, Brett is showing Aurora in August and Streamwood in Sept.

Good catch! For some reason I picked up an old copy when I entered them. It should be correct now.

How about: IOS#6: A-Town Throw Down?

Bruce Brakel

Pluister was the first TD I know of hosting "Throw Downs" which I assume is a play on words on "hoe down" that works with the topography of his ski-resort courses.  So I'll give Pluister the Throw Downs especially since Aurora is flattish compared to Shanty Creek or Boyne Mountain.

I was the first TD to come up with The Equinox but never got a chance to use it first.  Grrrr.

I think the Streamwood event falls pretty close to the Sturgeon Full Moon this year.  Last year the Sturgeon was unsanctioned.  We definately played it, but I cannot remember where or with whom.

The first IOSeries year Streamwood was The Streamwood Starter.  Then we had the Crystal Cruise and the Fairfield Fairwell [mispelled on purpose].  Last year Streamwood was not the starter and I kind of named it by surprise.  Jon and Brett didn't seem to care if it had a name or was just a number.
