I was bummed to see that the Greater Peoria Open is probably not going to take place this year  . You couldn't ask for 3 better IL courses to play in one weekend.

If it were me running that event i'd set up a split day event having players play Morton in the morning & McNaughton in the afternoon adding 2-6 temp holes per course. Adv/Pro one day & Int/Rec/Jr the other. I think that would draw more players that would be willing to travel to play one day. It's tough getting players to stay for the entire weekend.

What a shame. It used to be the only A-Tier in IL on 3 awesome courses. It drew some of the top players in the country. What a drastic dropoff. A, B, then no tournament at all.

I don't understand why Oldman & Wilbur are dedicating all their time and money to the women when there is no player base. Let's face it, there are very few women that play disc golf. There are some of us trying to make a living playing disc golf. This is just another frustrating example of why disc golf is moving in the wrong direction.

Damn. Brett, is this official? I'd been wondering about this since nothing's on the calendar yet.

It was already a drag that I could only get down there once a year, as they're all among the best (and toughest) courses in the state. After two miserable tournaments I finally managed a respectable result in 05, and I won enough 'Fun Bucks' for my entry fee for 06. Now I guess I'll have to wander down there and buy plastic, if this is true.

Damn.
thanks,
Damon

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

They were discussing it on their message board and they cannot find a TD for the event. It could happen but not looking promising.

I belive Peoria is by far the best venue in IL. They could host a Worlds with McNaughton, Bradley, & Morton. Along with those they have some other solid 18 hole courses.

Hey Brett, did you see that someone on their board suggested that you should run it as part of your Illinois Open Series?  ;)

I was going to post, "IOS #8?" that as a joke.  But Jon stole my thunder.
