The following article was in the Evanston Review.

Some residents spoke to the City Council about ideas for a "greener" Evanston.  Adding a disc golf course was one of the ideas discussed.  I am going to try and find the guy, Robert Taylor, and see what can realistically be done.  He is not an Evanston official but a head of a citizens group.  I suspect it would be another local 9 holer.  But hey, thats 9 holes better than we have now! This was a very, very preliminary discussion.  We will see whether there is anything to it.

Frisbee sports are not new to Evanston. In the day Ultimate was the hot ticket "talking mid 80's" Many Road Trips from Lake Bluff/Lake Forest with "The Flying Spuds over America" and great competition from students and townies alike. Big Ten Players were in excellent condition, great sports and great parties.
Freestyle flourished like most college towns and at some NU football games you would get Freestyle, Dog Catching Tricks , Plus Once an Ultimate Demo at Halftime.

Evanston is a Community that is managing with issues that most folks would like to sweep under the table.

Disc Golf is a Viable alternative to Ball Golf . Ball golf is not a Life-Time Sport when The Cost is Prohibitive to someone in a low or no income bracket.

GOLF ROUND/FLAT both offer young and old players the same things.
-   getting outdoors basic competition and comradery etc.

For the most part Disc Golf is not sold or marketed as Ball Golf and I hope it never is.
Ball golf is a lie...I Play Both and would rather play a great Disc Round Than Ball.

Disc Golf provides a real option for Park Districts that are Budgeted.
A Bigger Bang !  -- We all know this.

The PDGA needs to address this concern. They are failing in this respect , Maybe they should peek from under the carpet. Urban Youth Alternatives Provide a Road map to success and have someone study the issue. The player base is Huge and that's good for everyone.
"The use of drugs is a perverse expression of individualism, antisocial and life-denying,It isn't an assertion of individuality; it's a substitute for it. It's not an attempt to be different when everyone else is becoming more alike; it's a way of copping out. And that's the worst thing you can do."

just don't have them build any housing named after Robert Taylor on the course
