Innova just came out with a new Driver the Star Teerex.  Same speed and glide as the Wraith but more stable.  This is looking like the sickest driver on the market.  I hope they have them in stock for IOS #1

From the posts online, sounds like big arms will love this thing.  Or it could be just one more marketing ploy from Innova, you never can tell.  ;D

Got one yesterday and got to play with it all day at Vista Del Camino in Scottsdale AZ.  This disc is sweet, it is stable as hell.  I was throwing 420 spike shots with the right wind.  Anyone who goes to AZ has got to check this course out it is pretty sweet.  This was the course used for 2 rounds out of the 3 in the Memorial for the Pros.

We will have about 20 of them at IOS #1.  Three will be very slightly used, washed up and brand new looking.  I threw them on the football field.

These are exactly what Innova is billing them as, an overstable, fast, wide rimmed driver.  I was throwing them into a breeze that was flipping Star Beasts like pancakes and these guys would just turn a little, recover and then hyzer out.  They were flying as far as the Champ Starfires I was also throwing, but were more overstable.

We will have most of the new stuff except the Star Firebirds and the Goblins.  If you want Star stuff for your player pack, you will need to add $3.

I have one of these that has been thrown in the grass about 10 times. Willing to trade for heavier ESP Avenger.

Very stable disc. Threw this in the high winds at Parkside & it is a very stable disc. It's fast but too overstable for my rag arm. I can see some big guns throwing this thing a long way!

Airspuds,

Vista Del Camino is great ! Try to get in a full day if you can...
Dukes Bar is right there so you have a great place for lunch and such, another added Bonus is Spinners a well equiped Disc Golf Shop ran by Area Legend Dan Ginnelly Its Closed I think on Tues or Weds and has late afternoon hours. The Eye Candy is Great and there is always a mix of Players here. Water comes into play often, Fairly FLAT mostly treetops can catch nicely trown discs. Very Good tee pads well maintained course. Rollers can save strokes.

Two other courses...Get to one and forget the other if you dont have the time.

Forget the Fountain if you are Budgeted for time...
Yes it is Gorgeous.
Yes it is Green
Yes its fairly long.
Yes its 18 Holes...But

People are everywhere...Old Slow Folks Everywhere, When one oldtimer leaves two take his place.
Dogs everywhere.  *** if its cold or some rain the park is empty ***
also its like playing in a Portable Toilet at Fairfield . The Whole place smells of Portable Toilet water.
No one plays the course a few folks but nothing compared to Vista 100 to 1 Vista Vs Fountain.
No Concrete tee pads.

Buffalo Ridge  North Side Phoenix..

This is an incredible course.. Incredible place. Vista Del Camino players bad rapped it but I could never get one to tell me that it was not worth playing. They didnt like the fact that there is no water and that it is a little brutal on you plastic. Elevation changes galore Real Desert Course. Rocks, Dirt No Shade More Rocks Desert Fauna Great Custom Concrete pads at lowers pads. Friendlier players.. Hyzer course and long down hill challenges.. Uphill shots Blind shots and forget any roller.

Vista Players wont Venture North and The Buffalo Ridge Players wont go to Vista. And No One goes to the Fountain.

I also got to play two rounds at buffalo ridge with my star SL.  That disc was messed up after two rounds at that course.  The place that sells discs near vista is where I got my Teerex.  I also got to play in leages when I was at vista.  Floyd, another local pro around their, actaully won by two with a 14 beating DanO by 2.  Did not play the fountain in my last trip but that sewege smell is Recycled sewege water being thrown 500 feet in the air. :o

this disc is the one that I have been looking for.  I threw it into a head wind of about 20 mph at full strenght and it faded a bit before it finished hard.  I think that it will be used mainly as a head wind driver and use the wriath for the non-windy driver.

This is my main driver for anything 300+.  It has a consistant flight path and is the most overstable long distance driver.

Personally, I am disappointed in Innova. I have a first run T-Rex, and they say its in Star plastic, but it really feels like a DX T-Rex. I have felt a newer version of the T-Rex, and that does feel like a Star one. So, I think form now on, I'll stick with the newer runs......

Me too, but not because of Star plastic.  Have you tried the Surge?

The Star plastic seems to be coming out in three flavors: really shiny with an inconsistant oily look to it, normal shiny and matte finish with that DX look.  The First Run T-Rexes I had at IOS #1 definately had that matte look but they were assuredly Star.  I dyed a couple to be sure.  Some of the Star Beasts and SLs had the oily look.  The Star Aviars, Star T-Birds, Star Stingrays and Star Sidewinders were mostly the normal shiny kind.

Like Dave McCormack explained on a thread somewhere, disc manufacturers are usually buying plastic that is sub-grade, between grades, overstock, or otherwise discounted for good reasons.  Disc manufacturers don't drive the plastics industry.  They skitch off the back bumper.

The Star Firebird I bought has the matte finish with the DX look. Would've preferred the normal shiny, but what can you do when ordering online? As I've thrown more Star discs I'm leaning toward just keeping all my Champion discs in play.

discmonkey

#1  Surge is very nice
#2  ESP plastic is equally as nice
#3  You mean the infallable Innova has disc inconsistencies???  Say it isn't so!
#4  Innova will sucker everyone into a different disc sometime soon, I'm sure, and all the Tee Rexs will dissappear in lieu of the new disc of the day.  If I was to carry Innova I think I would probably stick to Firebird, old Beast, Tee Bird, Valk, Roc, and Aviar.  No new discs needed.

Just my humble opinion and that usually ain't worth much.    ;)
