If someone isn't rated because they have never played a tournament then they can play any division they are otherwise eligible (by age and gender). If someone plays sanctioned tournaments but doesn't have a rating because they are not a member, they will be asked (at our events) to play in the appropriate division if they are obviously playing down. Anyone is welcome to play up.  ;)

Awesome.  Barrett is looking at 200% payout!  We'll nprobably have more pre-registered by the end of today than played last year.  Yeah, we can do renewals and new members at the event.  Ask Jon for the form.

That's assuming she wins...She lost to an Advanced woman, Kim Keen, at the WI Tour Warm Up. She only beat Sarah Korinek by two. Sounds like Kelsey has been doing pretty well too. I think it'll be a close decision for the first and second place in this division. Carla sprained her ankle last week and has lost some mobility. She's throwing using just a quick two step approach right now.

I'm pretty sure all the women except Barrett are playing trophy-only, so Barrett does not have to win, she just has to finish!

Yes, Barrett is a good player.  But, ladies, if you are feeling strong; have practiced well this week; just feel lucky; why not upgrade?  A few shekels more gives you a 50/50 to win the cash if you are the only other player playing for real money.  Of course, there ain't much cash in the pool.

If they accepted cash they couldn't compete as am's anymore...would they be able to earn brass cash instead of cash?

Nope. A loophole opened up for a short time this year that seemed to allow that but the PDGA corrected their mistake and reinstituted the policy that ams can not accept any prizes in a Pro division or they ARE a pro.

If they accepted cash, they could not compete as amateurs at PDGA majors, which are Worlds and the US_DGCs.  They could still compete as amateurs at ABCD-tiers based on their rating.  I think most of them are planning on playing USWDGC or Worlds, this year or next, in the advanced division.

One of them has amateur aspirations that go beyond women's competition and may never turn pro.  So she says.

Well I guess that siren's song didn't tempt anybody.  Just proves that as the Dead sang,"the women are smarter."  If we had the typical siren's song a bunch of us dunderheaded men would exclaim, "Hot damn, I ken make me some money.  Heeeeyah!" and lose our amatuer standing.

Olympic disc golf?  No amatuers anymore. Olympic athletes are pro  fesh oh nails.Am-That's an obsolete concept.  No, I expect Kelsey to be teaching lessons to AM men for many years.

I bet Brett's doubles thing last weekend was playing rhythm guitar for those singing sirens.

I edited the hard returns out of Brett's post.  I did not change any of the words.

You can check pre-reg at pdga.com on the tour page for April when they get it running again.  It has been running sporadically ever since they uploaded new ratings.  Maybe it is overloaded with hits.

Not all 110 got uploaded tonight.  Brett could not get in.
