Hi all...I run the Frolf Club at Hannah Beardsley Middle school in Crystal Lake...we have a 9-hole course here, and as said in a previous post, it's almost never crowded.  It's pretty fun, though one hole was moved substantially.  A few right-curving holes and terrain issues, and now during track season there's a backstop that's in the way.

If you play and roof a disc, let me know....leave me a message here.  I can get up on the roof and grab lost discs.  if you know who I am, leave me a message for kicks!

Which hole was moved?  Hole 6 looks like it might have been a victim of being moved since it's just a really short straight shot.  How are they working hole 7 if there is track going on?  I'm not even sure I would want to try to throw 7 with people on the track.

Definitely a good beginner course or people that just want to get some good short shot practice in without a lot of people in the way.  I think hole 8 is very challenging.  It's only 105 feet, something like that, but it goes out about 30-40 feet before there is a steep drop with the basket right at the bottom of the drop.  Very tough to loft your disc just right down there without overshooting.

ALMOST had a roof shot the last time I played there off hole 4.  It skipped right off the edge of the roof and came back.  Thank goodness for that leftie hook!

Is the backstop that you're talking about on hole 5 for the baseball field?   That makes for a VERY unique throw.  Perhaps there have been additional barriers put up recently to help protect some of the track?

The backstop is off hole 5, and is there for discus/shotput use during track.  Speaking of track, during a meet it's almost impossible to play.  There's at least 100 kids on the track team, and when there are two teams there it's utter chaos.   Then again, it's fun to still throw over/past/through large groups of kids that have been warned, but have decided that you're not a threat.  heh heh.  Hole 3 is a bit of a challenge as well...hammer throws work okay, if there's a headwind, but even sidearms have issues with the tree cover.  8 is fun- I usually toss a light sidearm aimed at the corner of the track and it plops down right by the basket.  I aced 9 the other day- freak occurrance, it skipped off the roof after catching a nasty updraft off that hill.

3 is pretty easy for me (so far) because I'm a lefty.  I just throw a nice hyzer around the trees and brush with my Drone, and as long as I don't hit the building after I throw, it plops nice and close to the basket :)

Yeah I think I'll still stay away during a track meet hah.  The only time that I can get out there though is weekends, so I doubt that there are many weekend track meets there.
