Yes, Neal's a pro. I noted it in the TD report. I think he took cash at Aurora also.

Below is the email I recieved from David Gentry at the PDGA.

Mike,

That is an excellent question and I have to make an assumption or two to
answer your question. I believe you are talking about a scenario when an
Amatuer player decides to play in the Pro division with a Pro partner and
cashes.

If this is the case the Pro players is allowed to accept 1/2 of the winnings
and the Am must decline his half of the money which is then passed down to
the next place finishing team.

Please let me know if I answered your question correctly.

Hope this clears everything up.

What kind of prizes or "merch" is going to be paid out to ams?  Also, is there some kind of player pack?

No player's pack for this one. Payouts are going to be merch, the majority of it is plastic, to be paid out the day of the tournament.

Could you elaborate a little more.  I'm thinking about grabbing a partner to play but I want to know where my money is going.  I have only played in IOS tournaments so I just don't get it.  For example:  Is my cash going to the Pro's?  Or if there are 10 Rec teams will there be $450 worth of merch...etc.

All of the money is going back to the divsions it was paid into. So if the rec division's entry fees totaled $450. The rec divison payouts will be $450. There is no mixing of the money between divisions. All payouts will be by PDGA guidlines. They will be very similair to what happens at the IOS tournaments. The biggest differences will be no player's pack and all prizes will have to be collected the day of the tournament.

Waiting to make sure we can make it, but Joe Weitzel and myself might be down on Sunday. I think Joe is going to play in the Wisconsin Tour Finale. If he makes it back early enough and still has energy we should be down there.

Sweet! Hope you guys can make it. I think I still have one of Joe's discs I found at Streamwood. If that is an incentive to get down to Fairfield.   ;D
