There will be a Singles Disc Golf Tournament on Satuday, November 18th, and will be a "King of the 9-Hole Courses". I am hoping for a better name. It will consist of 5-9 hole courses, with a lunch break in between.

The courses are as follows:

Clark Park (Elk Grove Village)
Margreth Riemer Reservoir (Palatine)
Willow Stream Park (Buffalo Grove)
Adler Park (Libertyville)
Fink Park (Highland Park)

We will be playing one round of 9 holes at each course. We will be starting Clark Park at 9:00 a.m sharp in hopes to get all 5 courses
in that day.

Entry Fee will be $13 to play. There will also be an optional $2.00 Ace Fund going on ALL DAY long. All entrants will receive a disc
golf towel. Pre-Registration is strongly encouraged.

Flyers will be available at the "Chains of Pain" Tournament on October 28th.

Here's the catch...............I am looking for a good name to the tournament, in hopes to make it an annual event. I want all of you creative minds out there to start thinking. The stipulations are that it must have something to do with Thanksgiving and the month of November, and can also have something to do with the multi-course format.

The WINNING Title will receive a 2006 CFR Wraith at the November 18th Multi-Course Tournament.

Good Luck

well, good luck with this, but with at least 40 mi of driving and sunset at 4:30, I think you're being a bit optimistic.
thanks,

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

I agree, but how about The Traveling Turkey Tour, or just Turkey Tour, or The Turkey Tourney?

Don't forget your towel!

Here's a really good name that makes for a cool Colormax concept:  "The King of Nines."   8)

This is the Colormax concept:  You just take a picture of the four Kings in any colorful deck of cards spread so that you can see that it is four kings.  But you replace the Ks in the corners with 9s.

How about "Race Against the Sun" ?
You should do registration from 7:30 to 8:00 and then start right away.  That might give you enough daylight.

Thank You for the feedback.

I am overwhelmed by the responses I have received thus far to the Name Game. Either because you guys are looking forward to playing 5
courses in one day, or you just want that CFR Wraith. Whatever the case may be, keep those titles comin'. I have already received a few
good ones, but I will not reveal the top three until Monday, the 23rd, which doesn't necessarily mean that you can't get a last minute entry in before the 25th. Keep in mind, I am looking for originality. The deadline for receiving respones will be next Wednesday, October 25th, so that I can have the name on the flyers in time for "Chains of Pain".

For the 5 course tourney, there will be a limit of 36 players, and we will have registration from 7:30 to 8:00 (thanks to Bruce's input), and start no later than 8:30.

Are all hole groupings going to be the same on all 5 courses?

I think you better plan on playing  the last one or perhaps two rounds as glow rounds.  Bruce gave good advice as you are just three weeks after the switch back to regular time.  You get sunup at a reasonable early hour and sundown at a @#$%* early hour. Knowing the attitude of frivolity that such an event is sure to inspire, the event might be called the DUI tour.  Beware players!

David brought up a good point.  I am strongly recommending players carpool.  I live in Mundelein, so if anyone wants to carpool with me, just let me know (847) 650-0371.

As for the hole groupings, my wife is going to be handling the scorecards (as I too will be playing during this "pilgrimage").  Therefore, while en route to the next course, my wife is going to verify scores, and set up new groups, based on scores.  So, you might be playing with different groups that day.

I am going to have the flyer ready this weekend, but will not post on illinoisdiscgolf.com until the Title is chosen.  So, if players want to sign up before then, just mail the check to:

You should call it "The Jive Turkey Five" and make everyone do a shot of Wild Turkey on their first tee at each course. I don't like CFR Wraiths, so can my prize be a Discraft Surge instead? Thanks!
