I was so confused by those Thill Night Brite Lights, but I bought 4 of them anyway because I figured I would figure it out later.  I got home and realized that you twist the small LED light and now it all makes sense!  I was having the worst time imagining how in the world you would use the big bobber for night disc golf, but i'm all good now :)  I also bought a couple of flashlights, so hopefully I'm good to go :)  Oh yeah, and I bought clear duct tape too :)

Yes, if I don't say something tonight then remind me to.... Flashlights should only be used tonight for after throwing - eg: no illuminating the basket (taken care of already with glow rings) or finding flight paths. Feel the force, luke.

Oh yeah - I'll be at Bevier after 3... why I'm not really sure, but it gets me out of the house! ;)

Fun times last night :)  Congrats on the ace on #4, Dr Dye :)  I was getting really tired of seeing nothing but dark by the end of the 3rd round, but I'm glad that I went!

Mirth & Dr. Dye won the Int/Rec side with a -17, next closest was -6.

mirth

16 total teams, 6 in Int/Rec and 10 in Pro/Adv. Brett & Tom S. won the upper pool w/a -25. Myself & Dr Dye had two very hot rounds and took our pool with a -17.

I'll get full scores done later today.

Baggers :P lol

although my bro and I lost by 2 strokes to guys drinking hard cider, so I have no excuse for not finishing better!  Still happy with my -3 though considering it the first time playing glow disc golf (for both my brother and I), and it was my brother's 1st time to the course (we did play one round during the day)

Yeah, my friend and I weren't doing too bad, we just couldn't get a putt to fall in. Can't tell you how many we "shoulda" had....

I didn't realize how different it would be with only seeing glowing circles to mark the basket instead of seeing the basket itself.  There were definitely plenty of misses, but there were a couple shots where I was shocked we deuced it.

Did anyone else experience a change in their discs with the glow stuff taped on the top of it?  Perhaps this would be a better thread to start in the equipment forum, but if I'm the only one then why bother ;)  I was throwing a 175 Star Wraith, and it was flying a lot less stable than what I'm used to.  Either I was suddenly figuring out how to throw that disc a good distance straight or it was acting differently.  My second round drive on hole 1 had my Wraith land on the white line of the street pavement!  I know that's not a super long distance, but I wouldn't expect to hit there with my 175 wraith.  It was also almost entirely straight the entire way out to where it landed.  I don't think my mechanics are sound enough to repeat what happened, but I just found it very bizarre.

I've played Glow a bunch and don't really notice a difference in flight of the discs with the lights on them. It might've been because at night you're less likely to try to look at the basket when you're throwing.

mirth

I've had glowsticks alter my disc stability a little bit in the past, but don't really notice it any longer... gotta make sure whatever you're using isn't too huge & is centered on the disc...

depending on how you taped it on there, it can make the disc massively understable.  if done right though, then it shouldnt' make too much of a difference.

Well, I never moved the tape on this one disc that acted understable on 1, and I know that I was definitely able to get a nice hyzer (don't forget I'm lefty) on hole 6 that went to the outside (left) of the small block of trees that sits straightaway and then it hooked nicely to the right and skipped about 8 feet to the right of the basket setting up the easy deuce.  There were other times (hole 3 especially) where it didn't fade as much as I thought it would or should.  I don't think it was *that* windy to mess me up even though both 1 and 3 go the same direction.  Ah well.  At least the tape stayed on for the round unlike during practice before it was dark out!

Oh yeah - that was a sweet ace in the dark on hole 4, dr dye.
Also a sweet ace by Brett during warmups, the big hyzer over the willow on hole 2.

The Ace by Brett was outstanding, a huge hyzer around the big willow tree that came screaming down into the basket.  I don't think that the disc even hit the chains. At the time Brett hit the ace the wind was blowing about 20-25 mph.  It was a thing of beauty.
