Discontinuum Disc Golf Club Monthly Meeting Minutes
for
January 7th, 2007

In attendance: Dan M., Neal S., KVN, Scott P., Nathan F., Becky B., Maddisen B., Stan P., Colin C., Jason H.
Board Members Present: Brett, Al (Mirth), Tom and Jon

Al gave a report on current club finances. We have $3725 in the bank. $628 in petty cash. $244 in Paypal account. $4597 total. We have $585 in wholesale value of disc golf merchandise. The club just bought another basket (for $295) bringing the club total to 3 baskets. We have Fed and state taxes due soon and insurance due in spring. Club insurance cost $300 for 2006. We expect it to be about the same in 2007. We have 48 current club members.

Jon suggested making the club financials available in the club members area of the forum.

Bag tags were distributed to people who attended league and then to people in attendance at the meeting who were not at league (both by random draw). Then the rest of the tags were assigned randomly to the members who did not attend either.

Tom talked about organizing a Club Challenge Tourney against the Fox Valley club. Other clubs may be invited as well. Tom is working on a scoring system and details but would like to hold it in March in Aurora. Nathan Fenton (white_rhino) volunteered to make a clear trophy for this event and for the club event. Nathan made the clear trophy for last years' club event.

Tom suggested giving one disc away at each meeting in a free drawing in order to promote attendance.

We discussed alternative meeting sites, times and days. Sunday afternoon was suggested as not a good time for all, but a good time for those that attend league. Jon suggested we try the Grayslake place again.

A shirt update was discussed. Chris is still working on it.

An LCFP course is NOT dead. Tom is still in e-mail contact with a member of the LCFP board.

We would like more pictures of local courses. If you take the pictures we'll help you get them in our gallery.

Hoffman Estates had Brett do a course feasibility study at an undeveloped park. He said it could probably hold a 10 hole course. He passed around a layout of the park.

The Illinois Disc Golfer of the Year committee announced that Steve Slater has been chosen as the 2006 Illinois Disc Golfer of the Year.
