So I find it interesting that in the February Innova product news update that they are going to start selling their own quad bag straps - "Backsaver Straps" as Innova calls them.  While I think it's great that they are going to offer this, a couple things came up that I found intriguing...

First of all - the MSRP on these bag straps are only $24.99 (according to the 2007 Innova Catalog).  That's eye popping when compared to the Phenix Disc Sports quad shocks that they sell for $40 from their website.

The second thing is that Phenix has 2 patents listed on the back of their quad shocks.  My bag is in my car right now, so I don't know what the patent numbers are, but perhaps someone can run a google patent search and find out what those 2 patents are talking about.  I wonder if Innova made some sort of arrangement with Phenix to offer their Backsaver Straps or just are going on their own with it?  That could potentially turn into a patent violation lawsuit, would it not?

Innova's straps look virtually identical to the phenix quad shocks, so it will be interesting to see if Phenix suddenly drops their prices.  From looking at my price lists, I'd probably be selling the Innova straps for $20.  I paid $35 for my quad shocks.  That's a HUGE difference.

Innova also has 2 new bags coming out that work with straps - the competition bag (MSRP $58.99) and the Champion bag (MSRP $89.99).  These complement the tour bag (MSRP $68.99) that is already out there.

The Champion bag does look awesome, but I know I'd just regret not saving up for a Revolution bag...just like now (I have a medium Innova bag).

I haven't heard about the "gorilla boy" bags, but just did a google search. They look OK.....

regarding Innova Bag Straps:

I know Innova has had some quality control problems with their bags recently, so it'd be interesting to see how well these hold up. I've had my Quad Shocks for about 3 years and no problems, not like there's much there to rip or tear, tho

I think this will just be another product out there for someone who wants to save a little $, kinda like buying an Innova bag vs. a Revolution bag. My Innova bag is pretty shot (bought at same time as the quads, but the quads are still good) and am planning on getting a Revolution bag in March before my birthday (or for it)

Dr Dye's had a few gorilla boy bags & he loves them.

Just wanted to throw this out that the club can get Gateway bags for under retail. I've had my Tour since 2003 and it barely shows any wear.

Dollar for dollar, Plano makes the best bags.  I'm on Year 4 on a bag I paid less than $10 for.
