almost ready for the season to start.  can't wait, it can't get any worse that last year!   With DLee healthy again and Soriano in the lineup, this team should atleast score runs.  The pitching will be a question mark, but our division sucks.

the pitching is the question mark this year and thus far its been great.  the hitting has sucked, but it has to come around eventually.

this just sux.  how can u not score runs when u have lee, aram, and soriano in your lineup?  wtf?  i just don't understand why things just never seem to work out.  soriano leaves NY and goes to texas and then to washington and tears it up everywhere.  why does he suddenly have no power?  lee can't drive in any runs either.  1st and 3rd or bases loaded situations all year long and we NEVER get anybody home.  if the cardinals had signed soriano i guarantee he would have 14 hr by now.

i have mostly liked lou so far.  the only complaint i have is that he is leaving zambrano in too long consistently.  let the guy leave after a good outing for once.  he always lets him get into trouble before he pulls the trigger.  obviously the pen sucks, but we need Z's confidence to get back up.

the cubs need a long hot streak before the all star break or we might as well start unloading some guys.

how does trading one of the best hitting NL catchers for nothing HELP us?   give me a break.  dudes get in fights all the time.  you get over it and move on.  i would love to know who is the one who really wanted this to happen.  this season is reminding me of the 2004 team now, which is not a good thing.

if Koyie Hill can cut down even 10% more of the attempted base stealers than Barrett I'm happy.  I think I would have rather seen Cesar Izturis get traded, but who would take him?  Barrett was only hitting something like .250, and this is pretty much the sink or swim point.  If he hasn't been able to get that up to .290-.300 by now, is it worth the gamble?

With that said, it is sad to see Barrett go.  He's got heart.

griffey is not wat this team needs at all.  but watever.  if they waste even 1 longshot prospect on him for a season that appears to be headed for total disaster anyways, then its retarded.

well hey, it Texas had expressed interest in Jacque Jones, then work a 3-way deal somehow lol  I'll take a left-handed hitting right fielder with 19 home runs over a left-handed hitting right fielder with 2 home runs.

Hopefully Koyie Hill will get more playing time than Bowen.  I'm still not sure about that deal.

   I dont see Hill hitting much at the mlb level. He is a good backup but Bowen should definitely start. He can hit a little bit better potential then Hill anyway. And ya I agree I hate Jones i would love to get rid of him but i think the Reds were trying to get Sean Marshall from the Cubs for Griffey and I wouldnt do that

marshall for Griffey?  No way when there's some $22 million the cubs would be taking on for the remainder of Griffey's contract (through '08 + $4 mil buyout on '09 season).  At least the Cubs can chalk up a positive for having Pinella as manager right now though.  I don't think Griffey would even consider Chicago if it wasn't for Pinella.

If Hendry was able to swing Nomar to Chicago (whether or not it was good for the cubs doesn't matter right now), he'd certainly be able to pull it together to get Griffey.  I'd much rather have a Griffey/Floyd platoon (both lefties, both could use days off - let's just hope not the same days!) than a Jones/Pagan/Floyd platoon.

so im watching the cubs and listening to the white sox
