I'm doing a demo and looking for a few people each day to switch off playing and talking about disc golf to newbies.  We will set up a 3-4 hole course near our tent.  Hours are 10 till 5ish.  I am buying breakfast at Hussy's for all volunteers, both days.

Jim are you still good for one day?
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

jim

You bet. I'm committed to clean up Fairfield on Saturday morning, unless we get a bunch of folks to come out. But yes, count me in. I'll make sure you get the stuff before Sat.

jim

I'm in for Sunday.

Attached is the artwerk.

jim

Shawn, I'm designing a sign for you from scratch, if that's OK.

It was say something like:

DISC GOLF DEMO

Presented by

SEWisconsinDiscGolf.org

and

DISContinuum Disc Golf Club of Northeastern Illinois

It will be plain yet eye-catching. Also, the pamphlets I have are either out-of-date or have suffered flood damage. I will put together some new ones tonight and get them to you before Saturday.  Also, those nice, woodem arrow signs that Adrian made can be used if you want. They are on steel pipes with "Disc Golf" painted on wooden arrows.  What else do ya need?

jim

Yeah, that's Paul.

Signs are no prob. It was FUN last year. Mark Andrews hit an Ace from about 280'. Good food, too, even after all that yummy HussieChow.

:)

When do you want to meet, SF?

jim

How about one disc from someone else's bag?

jim

Somewhere between 8-12 people. Low attendance in general. Then the rain came.

Shawn and Mark stayed later than I did, so maybe things picked up later in the day.

Kyle, If your still looking for a good job.  The place where my girlfriend works just got a few more huge accounts.  She is working 6-10's and then working at home on a laptop after work.  They are looking for production managers, graphics people and whatnot.  Its in Grayslake at GFXI, about 35 minutes from my house.  Pay is pretty good, good enough to offset the drive.

Here is a link to their site, which is a sweet site. http://www.gfxi.com/home.html

Last year we let people use used disc that I had.  I can not sell anything or charge anything to play which is kind of a drag.  We can hang anything for advertisement purposes though, so bring anything you wish.  Pamphlets sound good, I had a bunch last year...I think Jim has them now.

This years Praire Days is going to be bigger then the last few years...I see they have the GT BMX team for both days, I wonder if they will let me get on the halfpipe?

Jim, are you busy this weekend?  Do you still have any pamphlets?

Kyle and JOsh, can you guys do Saturday?

We can get the banners up for the weekend.

Paul said that he could help Sunday.  Jim can you help Sunday or are you doing leagues?

I really just need 2 others besides myself on each day to make everything go smooth.  There will be plenty of time to see shows and other events so you will not be tied down to the disc golf for the day.

Jim, also get me some artwork for the Discontinuum banner that I can have run off.  I can not promise that it will be done for this event, but maybe for IO.

Thanks everyone

Is the lettering suppost to be filled in and clustered ....the "disc golf club of northeast Illinois," part?

Jim, I like the sign.  Is that Paul in the background?  I have 3 good baskets, 1 ching for putting practice.  The arrows would be good for direction to next tee, will only need 1 left and 1 right.  Josh has a bunch of thumbtracs that we can use for demo discs, I am going to bring a few approach discs for practice.  I don't think we have a hole over 225 so it should be a good practice weekend for upshots.

Josh, can you meet me at my house at 8am?  Do you guys want to go to Hussy's for breakfast?  My treat..

If he wants to sleep in, we can handle setting up everything.  The festival does not start till 10.  He can meet us there...parking might not be as close as it will be for us though.

Anyone who has never seen the lazer/fireworks at Praire days should check it out.  It is as big as the Big Bang in Milwaukee with the added lazers over the lake.  It is pretty cool, only downside is leaving the park at the same time 40,000 other people want to leave.  Just takes some patience..

Fireworks are Saturday night.

I'll try and make it Wednesday for singles night at Beaver.  If it is nice we should play 1 disc..  Wonder if the others would play that way.

We left shortly after Jim did, the vendors all cleared out also.  It was a bust...last year over 200 people, this year about 30.

Thanks to all that helped, without you guys it would have been real boring.

Shawn-I can help out too. I'd like to donate some discs and some DG materials I got from Innova.  They are pamphlets explaining what DG is etc. I think I have 200 of them.  i also have around 50 lightweight Thumbtrack Birdies for beginners I can bring.  I also have a nice big yellow Innova Banner and a white Hyzer Hurth's banner we can hang on the tent and/or table to draw attention.  just let me know what you need.

JOsh

Well I have plenty of used discs as well if you need any more.  just let me know.  i'm sure we'll have plenty of discs to go around.

JOsh

Hey Shawn, count me in for Saturday.

JOsh

What time do you want us there on Sat?
