Grayslake Doubles Wednesday Nights

just to let everyone know there is now a Wednesday night league in Lake County. Last night was the first week which went really well exept the 40 mph winds. We started at 5:20 with two foursomes and finished with plenty of light left. Congrats to Luke and Shaun butler  for shooting  a   -11 and taking home 40.00. Tee off will be 5:30 till april 18 then i will bump it to 6pm for those of you that work late. There are some pretty tough alternate holes laid out, so the back 9 plays pretty tough. Hope to see some of you guys next week.

we had a succsesfull wednesday night doubles (despite 40 mph winds and thunderstorms) last night. congrats to alex and mike porto shooting a -13 and taking home 40.00. ace pot up to 24.00. i donated an extra ten bucks to get it moving. we had a few more peolple show up but left b4 doubles due to the weather. thanks to kvn for sponsoring a ctp for hole 7. next week there will be 2 ctps. myself will donate a star firebird and kvn will have a new proto type deoblo. hope to see more of you next week. 5:30 tee off.

I'll make it there sometime. I chose to stay home last night when that big rain started moving in. I'll be in Denver next Wednesday. Hopefully i'll be there in 2 weeks.

looks like another rainy/windy wednesday night doubles tonight the weather report says it should clear up by this afternoon but we will see. tee off 5:30 hope to some you guys there. hopefully a little rain dont scare some of you guys away!!!

another successfull wednesday night doubles myself and rob schonoff shot a -11 to take home the cash. ace pot up th 30.00 already. alternates still to muddy to play but we should be able to play them next week. thats it for me hope to see some of you next week. another windy and cold wednesday night doubles. congrats to myself and jose diaz on first place shooting a -10 and taking home 40.00. ace pot up to 38.00.  6 pm tee off from here on out through summer. also were discussing a date for a 10.00 entry  fee for a night of iron man doubles some wednesday night in may. it will be a great time with a hefty pay out. i will keep you guys informed when we make the final decision on a set date. most likley it will either be 5/2 or 5/9. see you guys next week 6 pm tee off!!!

I was playing out there this am and I saw some flags for alternate tees.  Couldn't find all of them, though.  Anyone give a quick run down on where they are?

#10  just ahead of the park sign next to the bench
#11  walk opposite way of #2 teepad to walking path straight shot to basket
#12  bomber hole walk towards school, top of hill throw over soccer field
#13  walk past 4 teepad to end of tree line straight shot through trees
#14  just behind original tee pad
#15  still in the works due to soccer goals set up pretty much straight back for 6 teepad even with 5        teepad. flags were there but got pulled up when they set up the soccer gaols.
#16  top of elevated platform of concrete straight shot to basket
#17  walk past 8 teepad to the field big hyzer shot to basket
#18  bomber hole teepad even with the big oak tree in 17 fairway.
let me know of any more questions.

If you get a chance i'd suggest looking at few different alternate tee placements. For a righty there are no anhyzer shots from the cement tees or the alternate tees.

To the right of hole #2 when facing the basket there is a nice place to add an anhyzer where the hyzer would be blocked off of the fence & trees.

It wouldn't be an anhyzer but stand on the walking path on the north side of the park after playing # 3's basket. It's a great tee pad and a long straight shot to #4's basket with trouble on the right & left. There is a nice alley to the basket. It would be crossing #3's fairway but does not interfere.

#7 There is a nice anhyzer farther back of the tee to #7 if it's tucked to the right side of the walking path when facing the basket.


Just throwing out some ideas.

thanks for the ideas, this is a work in progress. i wanted to get more anhyzers thrown in there but it is a small park to work with the way the have 1-9 layed out as you know.. ive said since day one any suggestions are appreciated. we should hook up one day for a round (maybe this wednesday b4 doubles) and walk through and tweak out a few holes. i have a few ideas im working on which we can go over and let me know what you think.

From my baseball days I remember Spring weather patterns being pretty consistent every 6-7 days.. Just be glad it is raining on a weekday instead of the weekends.

congrats to rob schonoff and tenny shimo on shooting a -8 winning by one stroke and taking home 35.00. the one stroke they won by was due to a huge par on long 15 alternate (around 750ft). nice shooting guys. ACE POT 54.00. hopefully next week we can have some sunshine for once. 6PM tee off see you guys next week.

finally a sunny wednesday night doubles. congrats to myself and alex bingman on shooting a -10 and winning by one stroke over mr shimo and mike porto. the one stroke came once again on the long alternate hole 15 where me and al took a par. ace still hasnt been hit which brings it to 63.00. 6pm tee off next week see you guys then or maybe some of you at the mayhem
