Chicago Public League baseball

This has absolutely nothing to do w/ DG, but I'm a proud papa... my son (as a freshman and this year as a soph) was a part of Whitney Young's baseball team, who today won their 3rd straight sophomore Public League championship.

The varsity even won their first title ever at Wrigley Field on Monday.

Now Young is (appropriately) focused on academics, and granted that the Public League overall isn't really competitive with the parochial and suburban schools when it comes to baseball (our only losses this year - close ones - were to those programs), but it's still cool. 

I may get him out on the course again one of these days. He actually did pretty well in Santa Cruz when we played a round last year.

Whitney Young's varsity repeated as Public League baseball champions today at US Celllular.

It was way too cold for a baseball game but those were the best seats I'll ever have there....
