ok, so I was flipping through the cable channels tonight, and on my channel #74, I saw this guy talking about the White Sox and mentioning the Cubs.  I guess the guy pays to have his own spot on TV (started at 12:30AM), and it was about 10 minutes long or so.  This is a perfect example of a Sox fan that just makes me go, "whaaaa?"  Since he had a watermark for his webpage, I went online to check it out and see if he decided to put himself on YouTube.  Of course, he had, so of course I have to share the link here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoRimXmKl4s (does contain foul language)

See how much you can handle before it just makes you want to either throw up in your mouth or just outright laugh at this guy lol.  The sad thing is that from reading some other website stuff he lives in just the town over from me in Lake in the Hills.  Sad...

You put yourself in front of a truck listening to morons spew crap about the past.  I am a huge Sox fan, and this guy is obviously an idiot.  Take comfort in the fact that you got to watch your team into October when the Sox season became very hard to watch after mid August.   I am not looking for a war of words, but anybody that says they would rather not make the playoffs than get swept is an liar.  Its not 2005, as much fun as that was i encourage everybody to move on.

the sad thing is that I'm sure there are very similar Cubs fans out there too reading off a cue card, recording everything on one take, and sipping something a little more than just the Cubbie Blue Kool-Aid.

Working Stiff

Since I'm a transplant, I'm an outsider on this.  It does seem to me that the Cubs-Sox thing has gotten a lot uglier in the past two years.  Sox fans seem a lot bolder since 2005, and Cubs fans have lost a little bit of thier sense of humor since '03.  It makes my life easier.  Cubs fans get a lot of grief in St. Louis, so when I moved here I thought I was in for it.  It turns out that Cubs fans are too busy hating Sox fans to even notice a Cardinals fan.

In '03 I worked in a small office with very little security.  I went in early the day after the NLCS was over and loaded the Bartman picture as the wallpaper on everybody's computer.  The only person who got mad at me was an older lady who couldn't figure out how to get the picture of her grandkids back as her wallpaper.  The next year when I came to work after game four of the World Series a bunch of people had gone out and bought brooms and duct taped them across the door to my office.  At the Holiday party I got a big package of red socks.  By last year I had moved on, but a friend from there kept sending me a cartoon of Mr. Met stomping on a cardinal during the NLCS.  He also sent me a list of every Wolds Series Champion and thier number of regular season wins after it was over.  I emailed him Aramis Ramirez postseason stats this year.

It is all in fun.  It's sports, its supposed to be fun.  All this Cubs-Sox stuff is no fun.

those two new coaches should make the difference

rumor has it they might try to sign one of the big name center field free agents

i think one of the starters will be traded, the bullpen will be the wildcard

we need help at SS for sure ( even though uribe still has the all time white sox web jem going into the stands in the world series catching a foul ball)

wait, are you being sarcastic or serious that the 2 new coaches are the key to the White Sox success for next year?  Sox need a lot of help in a lot of areas - especially the bullpen.

yes

Sarcasm[A] is the sneering, jesting, or mocking of a person, situation or thing. It is strongly associated with irony, with some definitions classifying it as a type of verbal irony intended to insult or wound[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] — stating the opposite of the intended meaning, e.g. using "that's fantastic" to mean "that's awful".

It is used mostly in a humorous manner, and is expressed through vocal intonations such as over-emphasizing the actual statement or particular words. Use of sarcasm is sometimes viewed as an expression of concealed anger,[8] annoyance and/or ignorance.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky defined sarcasm as "the last refuge of modest and chaste-souled people when the privacy of their soul is coarsely and intrusively invaded."[9]
