Hey All,

I still have enough equipment leftover to make another 31 - 2008 Discraft Ace Race Players packs.  Please let me know if you'd be interested in picking one up!  The price would be $30 including shipping ($25 if we arrange some sort of pickup).

I have discs in all weights from 172-176g - most of them are 175 and 176g.

There are a number of colors of hats still available.

Your player pack would include 2 discs (your choice on weights), 1 Discraft Hat, and a nice Supercolor Mini.

You can pay through PayPal too (I'm pretty sure you're not required to have a PayPal account to use it).

Thanks,
Scott

$25?  Wasn't that the same price as the Ace Race that also included playing in the Ace Race and the chance to win more?

stpitner

Yes, it's the same price, but in reality that's a VERY good price.  You can buy the discs individually for $10, the hat for $12, and the mini for $5.  So $37 for all items separate for save $12 and get a bundle.

It's an opportunity for those who couldn't make it out to play to still pick up the set.

Well, If you want to get rid of one I'll give you $18 for the two discs and the cap.  You can keep the mini.  This should let you recover your cost plus a modest profit and still reduce your left over inventory.

Sent you a pm.  Asking for $18 is quite a hefty discount

Here's an idea. Do another ace race with the same entry fee and they get the ace race player pack and then take a percentage of the profit (half?) and do a cash payout. Everyone likes cash.  ;D

I'd consider another ace race if it was still October or something - I'm in my "offseason" and am trying to work on getting as much as I can online and available for sale - I fell greatly behind in that area when concentrating on so many tournaments.

Jon - unfortunately I don't make a lot of money on these player packs.  Most of the value is in the items given out and the cash payout would be really awful.  Good idea though if the player packs cost me less!

$25-$30 entry all divisions one disc challenge.  find a local sponsor to boost the cash payout?  play a full round instead of the ace race.  give one disc/mini & a hat for entry/player pack & use the extra disc to off for make up profit on ebay or something.  just a couple more thoughts

updated the number of player packs still available.  Thanks to those that picked one up :)  I know for sure that I still have navy blue, white, yellow, and orange hats left.  I might still have baby blue and black, but I'm not sure.  If I do it's certainly not many!

The Ace Race disc is now PDGA approved and is allowed to be used in all PDGA sanctioned tournaments.  The name --- "Nebula".  I think this is a disc with a good chance at receiving some traction on the market.  The Impact is an ok straight to turnover mid, but from what I saw at the Ace Race, the Nebula has a very smooth hyzer finish.

Bummer - I missed out on a free basket by 8 player packs.  Ah well.

They are allowing pre-registration of events for 2009, so expect another one to come to Aurora - time frame will be determined after some more of the PDGA events are figured out.

For the time being, the Nebula has a unique niche in the disc spectrum as an overstable, small diameter mid-range.  If you like the feel of the Buzzz but need something for a headwind or need more fade, this will be a great disc for you.  In the hand it feels like a lot like the Buzzz but it is domier and that makes it overstable.

If you are a disc collecter, the Ace Race Nebulas are the true first runs.  Discraft might lable the first-out Nebula stamped discs "First Run" but the 2008 Ace Race discs are really the first runs and collectors will know that.  If you are a collector or a speculator and Pitner is selling them for ordinary retail, you should snap them up.  Given Discraft's limited production capacity this could be a disc like the FLX Drone where they produce one run and then they all go in two weeks to preferred vendors.  You never know with Discraft.

I'm not a collector or a speculator and I only have one left so I don't have any self-interest here.  I just think this will be a great disc for Buzzz throwers for when they need the overstability.
