Week 1 results are now posted.  Thanks to Tom and Stan for shoveling the tees.  Seven players braved the cold and wind today, and six of us finished the round.  Brutal conditions, which are reflected by the high scores.  Also 4 lost discs today.

Congrats to Tom S. for the first place win and for winning the CTP.

Next week is at Warren.  Ace pool starts at $90. It can't be any worse than this week, come on out.

I'm not positive, but I think Stan still gets one point for showing up and paying.

Tom,

I will have to check the rules somewhere, but I based not giving Stan a point on two things. First a precedent: Look at week 8 of 2008 Summer Leagues.  There were 3 or 4 of us who dropped out due to the thunder and lightning in the area. None of even showed up in the final scores and didn't get any points.  There wasn't any whining at the time about not getting a point. I am not sure if it was you or Mirth entering scores at the time, but there were not any complaints that I am aware of.

I did add Stan this week because he started, but no points because he didn't finish.

Also in PDGA events, you drop out, you get zero points.

I'll give you guys credit for playing Sunday.  I had a family holiday event to attend, but I doubt I would have played in that weather anyways.  Maybe I'm just getting too old, winter golf in subzero temps doesn't seem very appealing anymore.

It looks like it'll be atleast 20 degrees next Sunday at Warren.  Should be a good time for all those who attend.

I have not been out there today, but I am guessing #7's basket is under water.  I will be out there tomorrow, and we will make due with what is playable.

Stan the Blue Man

i drove by warren 2day and hole 8 is really bad with water so i think 7 will be pretty bad also

DiscGolfSchodt

I walked the course today. On hole one the fairway is completely water, hole two the tee is under water, on hole six the tee is under water, hole seven the basket is surrounded by two feet of water and same with hole eight. The only holes that are somewhat playable are 1,3,4,5,9 and maybe 2 and 6 if the tee's are moved

Sounds like it should be fun! A thin layer of ice on top of water. Gotta love global warming! :)

We will play it. I will set up some alternate tees in the morning. It has got to be better than last week.

Scores are up. 12 players today.  All holes were playable, we did have to set up a temp basket for hole #7.  Lots of ice and water made for some very fun holes.   No Aces. Next week the ace pool starts at $102.

Adler Park in Libertyville next week.  Come on out!
