We could conceivably get another course in Gurnee....

The parks department is sitting on 50 acres of land that they have marked as 'undeveloped'. Currently, the only thing that is on this land is the recently opened aquatics center.



To put things into perspective, Bevier is only 30 acres. Now, if Waukegan Parks put in 9 moderate length holes on about 20 acres (the 30 includes the baseball diamond and everything on that side), think what could be done with 50!



The Gurnee park district is having their next meeting at 7PM on August 20th at Viking park on Old Grand Ave.

Anyone interested in attending and voicing their suggestion of another disc golf course for the area?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you can make the Gurnee meeting this coming Tuesday! I would love it if 10 guys showed up, with copies of a proposal in hand! I've been working on this proposal and have gotten demographics, maps, costs, etc. The cover looks great (if I do say so myself). :-)  All the info is specific and detailed. Or will be. I'm almost done with the second draft.

So PLEASE be there and let's impress Gurnee!

I emailed them yesterday and am hoping for a phone call to set up a meeting. The meeting went very well and the audience and board members seemed intrigued and positive. If I do not hear from them within a few days, I'll get on the horn.

BTW - preregistration to the Blast is encouraged ;-)  Glad to hear you found us!
