I just got this email from Cliff Towne, the PDGA guy who is organizing the Affilliate Club program (ACP).  Would you like for DISContinuum to pay $20 to register the club? That way, I think we all get $5 off individual membership renewals if we do it in bulk.

Please read and respond here with your opinion.

----------------------

Hey Folks,

It is that PDGA membership time of the year again! Attached find the PDGA

Bundled Membership Form for 2003 (revised to reflect the new AM division

structure etc.). I am sending the excel version but I have a .pdf file if

you need it - let me know. If you want to stick with the ACP this year

please kick me a check soon for the annual ACP fees for 2003 - that would be

great - still just $20. If you use the Bundled Membership Form, Guru asked

me to tell you that the birthdate info is MANDATORY.

I also want to advise you that I am preparing to print the hardcopy of the 2003 PDGA Course Directory from our online database. Please go online and review the courses in your area and advise me of any changes (soon please -

deadline looms).

You can update the info at:

Add new courses at:

http://pdga.com/new_course_user_insert.php

Short info ACP letter below:

The ACP is alive and well! Registration info is at:

http://pdga.com/club_af_register.php

Short info follows (more complete info at the web site below):

$5 off on the Bundled Membership deal - there are other benefits - check out

http://pdga.com/club_affiliate.php

For the Bundled membership benefit:

You fill out the excel form (I will attach that to you if you want to use

this benefit) with at least ten members and get $5 off each one. We

encourage clubs to charge members the full price

and the club keep the $5 for the club fund (as opposed the members just

taking the discount and club gets zilch). The club has to deal with the

burden of distributing the membership packages to members as well as

collecting the bucks, filling out the form and mailing it in.

Completed form and membership $ goes to PDGA HQ.

Include renewals and newbies and couples (every deal) on the same form

First you need to register your club as an Affiliate Club by sending me an

email with a separate club roster - names, (alphabetically please) and PDGA

#'s only ( most folks attach an excel spreadsheet). Include complete info on

your Club Contact (address, phone and email address) and mail a $20 check

made out to Cliff Towne to the address below.

Thanks, Cliff

Yeah, I agree with what Shawn copied off of the PDGA Affiliate Club site... Plus, donating $5 to the club is good by me as well.

How many club members do we have that are members, haven't renewed their PDGA membership, and we anticipate to renew their club membership?

I know we had at least 10 members last year...
Don't forget your towel!

mirth

I believe you pay the full amount, then the club gets to keep $5 of that when the bulk registration is sent in.
Don't forget your towel!

I will ask Cliff Towne to send us a group renewal package in time for the Dec 8th meeting.

I'll have to check when I get home, but I think the following are PDGA and club members:

Jim Klem

Danny Wheeler

Jon Brakel

Becky Brakel

Maddisen Brakel

Brett Comincioli

Al Short

Jay Neirodzik

Shawn Fallon

Paul Kuffel

Craig Shaub

Myk Deardorf (?)

Pat Wood (?)

Jason Hany

Mark Horn (?)

Lucas "Mr Bean" (?)

I dunno fer sher.  Work is distracting me.....

jim

I have now received the PDGA Affilliate Club Bundled Membership form.

Jon/Becky - if you want, it looks like you Brakels can signup for Family membership through this form.  :-)

Anyone can also sign up as an Ace ($150) or Birdie Club ($100) member through this bundle.

Also, if you have any confusion on the new Amateur status rankings, check out the info on pdga.com (link on front page), or you can ask me.  This will be my 5th year as a member, and I am very happy with membership benefits. I even got a great discount in Caifornia last year because of the PDGA/Alamo Rent-A-Car discount program.

Is everyone of the opinion that the club should keep the $5 discount on each of the bundled memberships? I certainly am.

Please bring money and info to the club meeting on Sunday, December 8th.  If you cannot make the meeting, please get me money and info before then if possible.  I will fill out the forms and write one check to cover it all.  Simple?  That's the idea....  :-)

I would like to see the club get the Five dollars that I was planning on spending anyway.   We could take care off membership sign-up,renewal and distribution at leagues or any event.

Some of the benifits

- Current PDGA members on the Affiliate Club's roster will be able to take the PDGA officials test with no fee.

- The club contact will receive a form for bundling PDGA memberships for 2001. The club will be allowed to discount $5 for each bundled membership. There must be at least ten (10) memberships per bundle.

- Upon receipt of the membership bundles, the club contact will be sent a PDGA Course Directory for each ten (10) PDGA members, along with the individual PDGA membership packages for local distribution.

- Various disc sport merchants will be offering exclusive discounts to ACP members.

     1)  Discovering The World is happy to offer 10% off our extensive product line to

Affiliate Club members who are also current PDGA members. This offer

excludes, D.G.A. and Innova baskets, our beginner package and any other

promotional discounts. This discount must be mentioned at the time of

ordering by phone, fax, mail, e-mail and off our secure web site (in the

              comments section @ www.dtworld.com).

- We will be adding additional benefits to the program as it grows.

Suggestions are welcomed.

Unfortunately I am not a PDGA member, but I play one on T.V.

Seriously, I never got around to signing up last year, but you can count on me for next year.

Becky, Maddisen and I are all PDGA members and we can all renew with the club. That's three more. When do we want to do this? At the meeting or does it need to be done sooner?

The Brakel's will probably sign-up as individuals. We like having our own DGWN.
