just giving the thread a bump.

wood chips were put around the tee pads on the east course last Saturday. everything is in B position.

alternate pins were marked out on the west course, but the sleeves probably wont be in ground by the tourney time.

the courses continue to improve. everyone should come out it'll be a blast.

Are any pros going to this? I really like both courses, and I'd love to play; however, it's hard to justify taking a day off of work if no one is going to be there.  :-\

duain

there is a few local pros that play and some that come from else where. at the rockford open in june there were 12 open players.

Does anybody know how many people are registered???

Is there any chance this event will fill with 160 people?

duain

it usually has about 50-60 players. most people just show up the morning of to reg. theres some folks from the sterling area coming that i've spoken to and of course the rockford fellas as well. weather looks great, courses are nice.

im going to do a 50/50 ctp for the second round. the cost will be 5 dollars, with the cash being split with half to the winner and half to the GRABM club for west course upgrades for sleeves to put in alt. pins.

Mike LaScola did a good job with the tournament today.  Players were allowed to get their payouts as soon as they had them completed which is much appreciated and a big bonus at a tournament in my book.

just want to thank everyone for coming out. it was a beautiful day.

the 50/50 i ran had 34 people in it with the winner taking home $85. we have enough $ for the new sleeves for the alt pins for the west course (we had some), and now we have a good chunk for some new tee signs.

we did freeport, grabm, and disccontinuum tags. i think the player count was between 60 and 80 players, enough to break the players up between courses.

i was busy with the merch booth after so im not sure who won in each division.

thanks again to all players that came, tournaments dont happen without you.

I also have to compliment the staff and the event on a job well done.  I think many people have been hesitant to head to Rockford because from a organized PDGA event standpoint they have not really been 'on the map' for the past few years (if ever).  However, some great people seem to be getting things on the right track and it was a very pleasant day.

I remembered how much I enjoy just playing in an event sometimes rather than always running them.  Thank you for that opportunity.

Great job guys.
