The Biblical style rains were crazy. That downpour during the first round on Sunday started during awards about 6:00 Saturday night and didn't let up 'til Sunday morning. There were lakes and creeks in the park that I had never seen before. I think those were some freakish rains and we shouldn't see anything quite that bad for years to come. Hopefully we'll have sunny skies and a full field this year!

That was BY FAR the WORST weather I have ever played in, and I was at Dretzka Park in Wisconsin during an Ice Bowl years ago, playing in 2 and a half feet of snow.

Blue tees will be in the afternoon. That way any morning dew will have a chance to dry off before playing on the grass tees.

Only 70 spots left on Saturday and 70 on Sunday.

The raffle drawing will be held Saturday night. You do not need to be present to win. Prizes can be picked up Sunday or arrangements can be made to have them delivered. Raffle tickets can be purchased when preregestering.

Cool! Just come ready, cause last time we did this Todd Fanning, Dave K., and Tom Matsevac showed up and they took the money with some awesome teamwork. I would love to get at least 10 open teams to come and play my gold tees at Mcnasty just to make things interesting so tell all your buddies and lets get more teams together this time! You can give your registrations to Cory at league or just call her 309-241-3003 and let her know that you are coming.

Brian, as me and my team members were talking about, quick question.
The mulligan thing is very WRONG for the OPEN division. Any team can buy the mulligans, or keep buying the mulligans until they make their 3. Does not seem right. Can you limit that to ONLY 1 PER HOLE? Say they use a mulligan and all 3 miss, can they buy another one for $2.00??? Since they used a mulligan and missed, they should NOT get another 1.  Open players should not get any mulligans, but rules are rules, we understand that. But this could take all day.

All mulligans have to be purchased before the round starts. Each mulligan equals one extra throw. The team can decide who gets to throw the extra shot but then they must play that shot even it's worse than one of the origanl throws. As this is to raise money for Pumpkinfest, the amount of mulligans will be unlimited. If a team decides to spend multiple mulligans to gain 1 stroke, they reduce their chances of breaking even for the day.
On another note, I'm goona be tweaking the gold layout a little to try to get better score spreads on some holes and try to stop the scores in the 40s. Wilbur ran it through the par calculator and it was supposedly a par 65 course with a lot of average to tough 3s and a couple easy 4s.

This is how Mark Ellis dealt with this "problem" at my Ice Bowl a few years ago.  First he pleaded with me not to allow mulligans in Open and I said, no, that's the format.  Play or don't play.  Don't come here asking me to change the format.  So then, at the tournament, he talks to every other pro team there.  He says, guys, look, I've got $100 in my wallet and its for the charity.  So for me, its a tax deduction.  It doesn't cost me a thing to donate $100 to the charity and get 100 mulligans.  So, we can all agree and tell Bruce that there will be no mulligans in the Open division, or i'll go get 100 mulligans.  Then he comes to me and says, Bruce, the Open division has agreed not to buy or use mulligans.  Here's a hundred bucks for the charity.  If any Open player buys a mulligan, I want a hundred of them.

That is an effective strategy for nixing mulligans in the Open division.

And, it will endear you to the TD.

okay, buying them before the round makes sense. we just didn't understand the format. Thanks for clearing it up, as we will NOT be using any. If 3 of us can't make a putt, something is wrong!  ??? And maybe we shouldn't be out there.   ;D

I will see if Rick will see Cory at any of the leagues to get our team regisetred, as I am on break until Worlds.

well check that. When will the tweaking be done to the Gold Tees? Might have to go play them a few times. In Gold, are you just talking the LONG TEES? As alot of those do need tweaked. Being designed by Scott & Tim Martin back in the late 90's, those 2 went waaaaaaayyyyyy to faaaaarrrrrrrrrr on some of those holes.  That round should always be called the Safari Round!

No Doug,. my gold tee layout is even longer and more twisted than the blue tees. The ams play blues and the open players play golds. I can get you a map if you need one or call me and I can meet you out there during morning hours to walk you through it. I work second shift, but will have two weeks off  after this week so any time you want to get together is fine   309-241-1020. Everyone that played it so far has liked it and I understand that it is still a little rough so I will try to fix it as much as possible beforehand.

I will have hot stamped r-pro bosses and r-pro aviars available at the fundraisers. These are being used as tournament  fundraiser discs. Cost is $11 and includes a raffle entry. You can also preregester for Pumpkinfest at the fundraiser events. Early regestration is highly encouraged.

great turnout yesterday Brian with 9 Am teams. The BLUE tees are hard enough but with #9, #13, and #18 having harder pin placements, we were very happy with that 52 with 0 mulligans, with our 2 bogeys. The 65' jump putt I hit on #8 for birdie, was the deciding stroke. Getting par on that monster #13 was impressive as well, as the group we played with used 2 mulligans  on that hole, still taking a 4  :o

Thanks for running this, now time to dedicate some time to the Blue Tees at Morton, as they seem to give me fits.
