11 Pros registered right now and 7 of them are 1010 rated or higher including a couple world champions.  I'm sure there will be quite a few more registrations that will equal this spread out a bit, but that would be the most impressive 11 player field Illinois has ever seen!  They are taking day-of, so anybody could show up last second.

Also, just 2 Pro Women signed up...Des and Val.  Winner take all $1000 added cash?

Well Dan, put on a skirt and shoot about 980 golf for the weekend.   >:D

It might take better than that.  Sarah Stanhope shot a 1021 the last round of USWDGC last weekend to win it over Val.  What happened to Tschiggfrie?  She wasn't at the USWDGC in her own backyard?
I'd be surprised if some more ladies don't show up.  1000 bucks added for 2 women and 1500 for 11 men seems like a strange ratio of added cash, but hey, I guess its the TD's choice to use that money he raised however he chooses.  I think something like 2500 open/500 women/0 masters would make more sense.

There should be a separate division called 'Illinois Pro'.

In Michigan that division is called Advanced.

Other than Bennett, every Michigan pro would be getting their ass kicked by the Pro field in Hamilton as well.  He's your only Pro rated 1010 or higher.  There are 8 of those guys in a 15 player field in Hamilton.  So, if there were any Michigan players travelling to Hamilton, they'd be welcome to join the 'Illinois Pro' division.

Also, in regards to your past comments about the Michigan advanced field being so much tougher:  I just made a spreadsheet including the top 35 amateur ratings for individuals with atleast 10 rounds in the database for Illinois and Michigan.
Illinois range is 965-940
Michigan range is 977 to 943

Illinois average is 948.5
Michigan average is 952.7

So the Michigan advanced field is, on average, less than 1/2 a stroke better than the Illinois advanced field.  I guess I don't see that as being THAT much better?

Also by comparison,

North Carolina ams are at 957.2
Texas   956.7
California   960.9

On the Pro side, no state is in the same league as California with 26 pros rated 1000 or higher and 10 of them over 1020.

I think my past comments were said in the past, when it was true.   ;D  I don't think I've said that at all this year.  The Illinois pool of Advanced Amateurs has grown quite a bit in the last few years.  It is a much tougher field than it used to be.

Still, if we only had to beat the average player in the top 35, that would make it a lot easier!  Usually you have to beat all of them who show up.

So, it's more about raw numbers than averages.  60 versus 45 amateurs rated over 940 in each state.  81 versus 54 total Advanced Amateurs in each state.  And sometimes you have to beat a few Intermediates too.

Of course, as I've observed as to North Carolina on pdga.com, all it takes to have a lot of talent in the Advanced division is a lot of Advanced amateurs who for one reason or another aren't going pro!

That was like throwing a rock at a pack of pit bulls!   ;D

I'm hoping the grouping of Pros will be spread out during the first round. Right now there are 8 1000 rated pros compared to 7 Under 1000 pros.  I cannot stand big events that put all those guys on 2 cards and lets the other guys play together all weekend.

I think TDs who do that don't understand what they are selling.

i'm really excited for this tourney.  i'm leaving tomorrow morning so I can play Rand since I've never played it. I LOVE Wildcat, I think it is a gorgeous course.  I would love to sit and watch Avery attack hole one, I'm thinking he would do what nikko tried last year, a super anny around the left side of the big tree only I think Avery has the power to land it under the basket for an insane 2. i'm staying at the Fairfield Inn this weekend,I am all camped out this year after camping with no electric for Worlds. Although I recommend camping, it was really fun the last two years I went to the tourney.  Anyone know if they are doing the ace race friday evening like they have the past couple of years?

Dan and Stank left a few minutes ago. I am totally bummed to not be in the car heading to Hamilton. I have attended the past 4 years and have had a blast. I was really looking forward to playing a new course and 4 rounds this weekend.  Wed night I got sick with the flu. I took the day off work yesterday and thought i'd be ok this morning. I still had a temp so I decided to stay home. I wish I could predict the future. If I knew I was going to be ok tomorrow i'd take the 5 hour trip today and sleep in the car. This sucks!

Likely story, see you at Channy!

Trust me. If I was not sick i'd be playing Hamilton over Channahon 100 out of 100 times no matter who was playing. I paid for the hotel using orbitz and sent my registration several weeks ago so i'm out money. It's very disappointing. I burned a sick day yesterday and a personel day today doing absolutely nothing. I was looking forward to 3 days of disc golf.

Dan and Stank arrived just before noon. Rumor has it Feldberg is in town.

This is how you get your money back from both of them.  You call the TD/hotel and say, "Look, I pre-registered/booked a couple of weeks ago.  Now I'm sick with the swine flu.  I'd be happy to stay home, and not infect you and everyone else at your tournament/hotel if you'd give me a refund/free nights on a future stay."   >:D

Brett-
I was just kidding around.  Actually, the first thing that came to mind was you having to burn personal/vacation days when you were actually sick.  I do hope you feel better and hope to see you healthy and slammin putts at Channy Sunday..
