The flyer showed that Forrest Park will be played. Don't know for sure how many holes, but I played it today after work, and this is what I remember...

This course designed by Rob Strasser, was overall pretty nice, but not too difficult from the A Tees.
It is a 9 hole course with 2 sets of tee pads, A and B. If you are coming to the Bloomington/Normal Open, I would for sure check out the B Tee pads.

1. A 262, B 325, Hyzer with Pin behind huge evergreen. (2 on both)
2. A 326, B 342, Both shots straight uphill(very tuff 2) Trees gaurd the pin to the left. (3 on both)
3. A 220 something anhyzer(easy 2) B 290, very very low ceiling anhyzer, with tight off tee pad(took 4)
4. A 240 something uphill, B 280ish straight ( 2 and a 3)
5. A 270 very tight fairway, B 330ish tight fairway Tuff hole to take a 2(2 and 3)
6. A 250 straight with OB all along left side, B 294 another low ceiling anhyzer HARD! ( 3 and 3)
7. A 365 thread the needle drive Tuff Tuff, B 382 Blind anhyzer( 4 and 3)
8. A 260-270 hyzer with hidden basket tucked into woods,  B 300 straight or hyzer tucked again (lucky 2 and 3)
9. A 260 either way with a Huge tree gaurding the pin, B 417 roller if you got it. ( 2 and 3)

First time seeing the course, but B's play harder for sure, as the score showed. Again if you are playing in the tournament, check out this course, cause some holes will be played going by the flyer posted.

Anyone from Chi-town coming down for this?  Rob has some great temp holes planned for the afternoon round, and we'll be playing 6 or 7 holes at brand-spankin-new Forrest Park (long tees) in the morning.

man.. why no love for Novice.  Not sure if I'm going to go or not, having novice would help push me the right way.  Have to get prior approval from my wife though :)  I wonder how many signups there are already.

It is very likely that your TD does not know that there is a Novice division.   >:D

Nah, they know about novice.  I'm sure they will continue in Brett's footsteps and run a quality BN Open.  Hopefully the PJ Irving to Forest Park transition during the round isn't too confusing...
Scott- Maybe ask on bndisc about novice, I'm sure you'll get a quick answer..
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

So...whatcha think?

There were a TON of out-of-towners at the tournament this weekend, including several familiar faces from the Chicago area, so I'm wondering what y'all thought about the courses and the tournament overall.  I'm not sure if Rob reads this forum or not, but I'll try to pass on any constructive comments.

pdga#7648

having to start at Forrest Park for 1 hole, come back to PJ Irvin, then go back to Forrest kinda sucked, but other than that, the tournament was great. Great courses with real nice temp holes at Maxwell( actually took a 3 on 12b(along the baseball field, after tunnel shot) Courses were marked well, and the scorecards were awesome!!
Thanks Rob, and to all the helpers who helped spotting, sorting scores and scorecards(McManus), and Tom the merch!

Had a blast and will return next year.

I had a fun day and the weather was solid.. I enjoyed the 50 holes of golf. I didn't think the walk across the road was the best idea at first but it worked out pretty good.

The only negative I have was the turnaround time between rounds and after. We started at 9:45 and it seemed most groups were off by 12:45. Round 2 started at 2:40 and the round was done by 5:30. I felt like we should have easily been out of the park by 6:00pm with the # of participants.Tom & I did not get on the road until 7:30pm and arrived home after 10:00pm.
