When do we go back to Standard Time this year? November 1st? I forget what the new rule is.

November 1st is when we fall back an hour, so you'll have two weeks to get used to the time adjustment before this event, which will still be 1 hour ahead.

I thought the new rule was that Standard Time is always in effect unless the TD announces you're on Daylight Savings Time.  Or is that the two meter rule?

It is nice to see tournaments in the Michiana region again.  I read on the MichiganDGO e-mail group that you are planning on running four tournaments next year.

Isn't it a B tier requirement that all amateurs get player packs or is that one of the sanctioning requirements that the PDGA removed?

Not ALL amateurs need players packs...we are doing the first 40 participates becuase we do not have enough sponsorship money to provide all ams with packs, we are trying to give maximum payout! For those of you thinking about coming PLEASE pre-reg online to ensure your player pack! Also, for those of you that have NOT played Ox Bow previously, if the week before is raining, come prepared for muddy conditions! It is tough to soak up the mud in that park for those of you that have played it...if you have any questions please contact any of the TD's listed on the bottom (myself included)

Also, if this event goes well we WILL be having more events in the year...we will most likely have an Ice Bowl (mike Z wants to run tournaments rather then play in them now, so hopefully he/we can promote the michiana area again like in the past) I am in the process of getting the privleges of the club site along with the other club affiliations so hopefully the MDGC will be back in action next year!

How big is a bag? Just wondering how much to pack!

Certainly not all amateurs need player packs but it is a minimum 2009 PDGA standard that all B tiers provide amateurs with at least a $10 value player pack. I think it is commendable to try to get all the player packs sponsored. This is something that I have never been able to do. However, if you don't get all the packs sponsored it doesn't have to come out of your pocket. All player packs are considered part of the amateur payout to make your B tier minimum 100 percent payout to ams. You can also offer a different player pack to the first 40 that pre-reg if you want as long as everyone else gets at least a $10 value in their player pack.

The following is from the 2009 PDGA Tour Standards doc:

Table 1: 2009 PDGA Tier Standards Chart
National Tour / SuperTour / B Tier / C Tier
Min. Retail value of Amateur PlayersvPackage:
Not applicable    /      $25    /   $10  /    None

I have also attached the 2009 tour standards doc. Note that you have to be logged in to download it. It can also be found at: http://www.pdga.com/files/documents/09TourStandardsV1-2.pdf

I think I am attending.  I will be at my girlfriends parents in Naperville that Saturday so the drive to Goshen shouldn't be that bad.

It's a little under 2 hours from Chicago if I recall correctly. I'll be heading over Saturday morning to get a practice round in before the tourney.

Is a stew being served again this year?

I don't drive as fast as Taylor, but I think it is about 2.5 hours, plus an hour for the time change.

Or it's the fact that you live a half hour north of me.

I figure about 4 hours from my house, including the time change.  I wish that I was a half hour from the city.

I haven't played it in a few years but I think Goshen is still worth the trip.
