Jim- Can you clarify?  Are some groups only going to play two rounds?

Jwt4412

Tom,

The second day is planned to be advanced and above... with a staggered start...  We are going to really stretch out Lincoln Park and don't want to end up with the 45 minute to 1.5 hr delays that occurred at a recent 2 day event...

We are going to offer Spectator Prizes the second day for gallery followers - including a "Spectator Roc" that was donated by ZoneDriven and a Mach Lite made possible by DGA...

The first day - Everybody plays Lincoln North which has a Blue length layout and Lincoln Park South in the short pins..

On the second day - Advanced and above will play Lincoln South in the long tee positions with some changes... we will let people know their tee times the night before...

What is currently #9 - the longest hole on the top of the hill will have a new tee position in the woods another 60-75ft deeper and about 40' in front of the drop of in the woods...  The new #14 in the woods across the top of the Lagoon will have a pin position across the opening that used to have the railroad ties and now has block retaining walls.  Old #3 - New#4 will throw across the lagoon to a Titan on the second day.  And the first three holes of North Course (old #15, #16, #18) will be thrown and stretched to their long positions.  I forgot to mention that #17(old #12) will throw to the Alternate position of the next hole and #18 (old #14) will throw to #4 North's pin position.  Douglas park will be open for those who carpooled who don't want be a part of a gallery.

Some of the better intermediates may want to play up in the other divisions (advanced or the masters) if they want to play the second day. To be honest that is my hope - the folks who really want to tackle Lincoln in its nastiest layout play up = cuz the course is going to play very hard with the new wooded holes and the new alternate positions...

As the TD, I am open to open up the third round to the intermediates but it could create significant delays... it is still early in the planning... I want everbody to enjoy the event, so if there is enough interest among the Interemediates to play the second day with Lincoln in a mood - Well, I am all for it - but Intermediate would start pretty early on Sunday Morning...  Consider the floor open - Let's discuss:

Too bad INT and below couldnt play a shotgun start round at Douglas 8am Sunday.  I realize that would take a few volunteers away from Lincoln for a few hours.  I think 1-2 volunteers could handle that?  8am start would from the short tees would have players and volunteers back at Lincoln by noon to merch out and watch the last pro cards.
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

We are going to need all the volunteers we have and then some as spotters for the Sunday Round...  There are a lot of blind shots and a few shots that go in and out of the woods in the new layout.  That said no reason somebody needing a fundraiser tourney can't get the use of Douglas Park on Sunday from the Park District and run a tourney themselves in the morning for the Intermediates and Recs.  Wouldn't hurt our feelings.

Sounds like a primo opportunity for a GPO fundraiser...  just sayin'

Several possibilities for Rec and Int. players. First, hopefully some of the top Int. will want to play up so they can get some experience playing advance level disc golfers on a challenging layout. Also more experienced Rec. or Int. disc golfer could organize  singles or random draw doubles at Douglas in the morning. Sleep in and caddy for adv./pro disc golfer. Visit Abraham Lincoln Library on Sunday morning then come be part of the gallery at Lincoln Park on Sunday afternoon and have a chance to win prizes for being a spectator. Play 15 holes of Lincoln North against some buddies. Most of SDGC's volunteers will be focusing on having the Sunday round run smooth. Just some thoughts.

Talk to the people runnin the GPO, maybe they might be interested?

Is added cash going to the pro division or will there be $ in the master division as well?  Do you anticipate that the added amount will be more than $500?

Sent a note to Wilbur...

I figure it will split (500.00) based upon the total number of players playing in the Open Divisions...  It's gonna be a total of $500.00 - Money is already sitting in the bank and Brad has been told... no matter how great a deal I come across don't give me the $500.00 until it is time for the payouts...

... if there is 40 Open, 5 Open Masters and 5 Open Women it will split...   $400.00, $50.00 and $50.00

If a sponsor throws money at us and says it goes for payouts... we will honor that and it will get added...
