Hey Terry:

Hoping to head up there on Saturday and want to make sure that Brown Deer and Dretzka are open. Doesn't matter if they're in 'tournament position', just that they're in *any* position....  ;)
thanks,
Damon

We have a ton of activities going on during the Greater Milwaukee Open - Memorial Day Weekend.  Here is a quick recap along with some other details.

Friday Night - Early check in and random draw doubles at Dretzka.  Drawing for partners at 5:45.  18 holes at Dretzka, 110% merch payout.

Saturday - All Professional divisions as well as Advanced Men.  You will play one round at Brown Deer and one round at Dretzka during the event.  The Advanced Mens champion will take home a CUSTOM COLORED, PORTABLE, MACH V basket as his trophy!  A list of pre-registered players can be found here:  http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=10045

Sunday - All other divisions that don't compete on Saturday, compete on Sunday.  Those include, Advanced Masters, Advanced GrandMasters, Advanced Women, Intermediate Men, Intermediate Women, Recreational, Juniors, and Novice.  You will play one round at Brown Deer and one round at Dretzka during the event.  A list of pre-registered players can be found here: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=10623

Monday - Memorial Day Doubles.  Bringing something new and exciting to the event this year is a PDGA Sanctioned Doubles event.  Everyone will be playing 2 rounds at Dretzka.  A list of pre-registered players can be found here: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=10048

As always, you can save yourself a few bucks by mailing in your registration.  My address isn't a secret and I fully encourage you to mail it if you wish:  Terry Miller | 360 Park Hill Drive, Unit E | Pewaukee, WI 53072.  An event flyer can be found here:  http://www.lifetimediscsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2010GMOFlyer.pdf

If you wish to register online (and make yourself eligible for "IRO Only" prizes) then please find the correct pool and register at:  http://www.iRegisteredOnline.com

Thanks!

Do you know what holes you will play at Dretzka on Sunday?  Will you play all 27? 18?  any of the holes on the other side of the park road?  Will positions be altered from what they wee this past weekend?  Most, but not all, were short.  Also, will the Sunday group play Dretzka shorts?

The pins will not be set for a couple more weeks.  I am all in favor of having them ready for people to play about a week ahead of time but I don't like having them out there for weeks upon weeks.  Plus, Dretzka is far too versatile for us to do that anyway.  League play and casual play is far too prevalent for us to set pins a month ahead of time (per say).

To answer you more directly - whatever the pins are set to for Saturday, they will be the same for Sunday.  ALL competitors on Saturday and Sunday will play only 18 holes at EACH course.  With playing 2 somewhat tough layouts that day and the drive between the two courses, I didn't want to lopside the event with 27 at one park and 18 at the other.  We did just 18 at each course last year and it worked out well.  PLUS ... that gives the general public a place to play when they show up and get mad that they can't play the regular course (no matter how much we pre-publicize the course closures).

That means we will NOT be playing the <new> 9 that are across the road at Dretzka.

I THINK we'll have all of Saturday's competitors play from the long tees (on the 13 holes they exist) and we'll have all of Sunday's competitors play from the short tees.  If someone really wants to be challenged by the long tees and doesn't think it is fair we don't play them on Sunday, they can play just Saturday or both days (with a special "Iron Man" prize added).

Thanks for the good questions!

Terry

Pins were just set to tourney locations this weekend.

The registration doesn't "CLOSE" per say on Thursday night - instead the late fee just gets implemented.  Typically I'm pretty generous with that and it doesn't happen until about this time at night (it is 12:15 AM right now).  However, I can't make any promises one way or another.

I want as many people to get signed up and I hope I have 100 more that come in BEFORE the late fee kicks in.  I just want a commitment from people.  I have well over $500 in fixed costs before this event even starts so pre-reg helps the players AND my piece of mind.

Looking forward to having anyone that isn't going to Iowa!

I see the player meeting is at Dretzka. What course will the MPO be playing 1st?

Last year we had the pros play at Brown Deer first and then wrap up at Dretzka.  I *THINK* we'll do the same this year.  I would consider two different player meetings at two different parks but seeing how the two courses are pretty close together, I don't mind having everyone at Dretzka first in the morning.

That's the plan right now but I hope to have a final player confirmation e-mail get sent out late tomorrow evening with more details.

Thanks for signing up Brett.  Please reiterate to others that the late fee kicks in tomorrow night.  Also, we are giving away a portable MACH V to the Adv winner!

I just took another 15 registrations in the past 12 hours.  I expect this number to skyrocket as the discounted entry fees are about to vanish later on tonight.  Get signed up right away.

How much longer are the discounted entrys good for? I just started thinking of going, however, it doesn't seem like too many are in the Novice division right now.

Alright thanks a lot for the quick response. Signing up now.

I guess I should have clarified - you certainly CAN do it at check in but it makes it 10 times easier for us to just mark it on your scorecard when we create them versus having to handle a cash transaction (yes, event for just 2 dollars) the morning of.

So sign up for it now or then but getting it done online helps things run even smoother.

Thanks and we'll see you then!
