Played the BSF this past weekend.  Fun event overall.  Two 18 hole courses in 1 state park (Milo Mc).  Both courses were around par 60.  The course usually has 27 holes, but they add 9 for the weekend.  Lots of great par 4s with 1 monster par 5.  Easy par 3s were hard to come by, there were really only 1 or 2 holes on each course that were "easy" birdies.

The weather was crappy for the most part, lots of rain and cooler temps.  They claim its the first yr it has ever rained for this event.  Ive spent a little time in Oregon over the years and I have only seen the sun a handful of times.

I played ok throughout the weekend, didnt do anything spectacular.  My 1 real lowlight was during R3 when I was shooting lights out with 5 to play.  I was beating on Steve Rico.
I went:
5 Bogey 4
6 Double 6
7 Par 4
8 Took an 8 on this par 3 hole.  2 OBs.
9 par 4
26 shots over my last 5
Rico:
5 Birdie 2
6 Birdie 3
7 birdie 3
8 par 3
9 birdie 3
14 shots over his last 5

I ended up with a 63 and he shot 53.  I guess that is the difference between a 1030 rated guy and a 981 rated chump.

I'm still pretty upset about the 8, considering I missed cash by 1 stroke.

If you are ever out west, check out Milo because it is surely worth the 5 bones to get into the park.
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

Thanks for the update Dana. It is always nice to hear about other tourneys and courses, and other parts of the country. Sorry to hear about the 8.

I played Pier Park when I was in Portland, and that was a beautiful course. I heard a lot of good things about Milo but I couldn't find a ride over there. I'll definitely hit it up next time I'm there.

Roman- Check out www.discvango.com next time you are in OR.  It is a Disc Golf shuttle bus that goes from course to course in the Portland area.  Headin to Pier today to play in the rain.

That's awesome! Wish I knew about it when I was there. I was out visiting my sister at the time, and work had her staying at an apartment in the Pearl district. I looked around for courses that I could reach by public transportation, and I was lucky to find a bus route that started right by my sister's place and ended at Pier Park  8) I went there to find about 40 guys practicing putting. Turns out they had doubles that night. It was a great way to learn the course. Lots of friendly guys there. If you can't throw rollers, they'll all laugh at you! I can't wait to get back.
