So I saw Sony had a new video set up, the new Sony Move with camera is being utilized by Sports Champions game to play disc golf  Im not sure how butchered they will make the gameplay, as has been done with other games of disc golf.  But who knows, maybe it will be good.  The video is at: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/09/16/sports-champions-week-disc-golf/

They have been running a TV ad for this where they briefly show a kid playing the disc golf game.

From the review that was linked on disc golfers r us, it is a pretty good version. It is limited though as it is on a sports compilation game. There is only one course. But from the review it said that you can throw hyzers, anhyzers and rollers. It sounds like the physics of throwing is pretty good.

The Wii sports has a couple of good disc golf games. They are fun but you pretty much can't throw anything other than a backhand, flip to flat style of throw. The Wii version of Tiger Woods from last year had a decent disc golf game also. Tough to learn how to throw far and some how they took the fun out of that game.

I will probably check out the new PS3 motion thing soon.

There was mention of possible downloadable new courses as well as time goes on, which would be nice, especially if they release the software development kit for users to create their own.  Hopefully the physics will work out great on this game, especially if they added in wind vectors to the throws.

The Tiger Woods Wii disc golf game was not fun in my opinion.  Putting was just way too easy for the game to have any replayability.  My 2nd time playing the game I birdied all but 2 of the holes.  The game is just too easy.

The Wii sports resorts disc golf game does not have actual disc golf baskets, but rather just a large cylindrical zone that you must hit, but it is actually pretty fun for me.  Its very challenging to try to go through an 18 hole round without pickinig up any OB strokes.  A lot more thought has to be put into the shots than on the TW game.

I would love to try this PS3 game as it looks pretty cool, but unfortunately I don't have a PS3 and won't be purchasing one anytime soon.  The motion device will probably go to better use with PS3 games versus the kid-friendly Wii games.

I was able to play this yesterday. Overall I give it a thumbs up. Game play is a bit limited as it is just one game in a sports compilation. By no means would I suggest getting the Move just to play disc golf, but if you are getting it pickup the bundle with the Sports Champions on it. You'll have fun with it.

Pros:
Flight physics are solid and predictable.
You can throw hyzers, anhyzers, flat, rollers, upside down, over the head and every variable in between.
Multiple tee positions, courses, and optional winter play.
Proper throwing form can be utilized to play. Actual disc golf skill is a reflected in game play.
Can choose driver, mid-range or putter for any throw.
Move controller accurately reflected on-screen what I was doing in real life.
Nice layout of holes with good airways, rough and obstacles.

Cons:
The baskets are strange and huge. They seem to be about 15 to 20 feet tall with the basket area just a foot or two off the ground. The basket is also about 6 feet wide. The basket is very shallow but the chains draw the disc in so usually if you hit chains you'll wind up in the basket.
Should have had branded baskets that are proportionally correct.
Putts inside 75 feet are too easy.
Aces are too easy.
No choice in stability of discs. Drives thrown over 300 feet rarely come back. They  will just continue to fade right on RHBH throw.
Hyzer and anhyzer releases don't seem to curve as much as they should.

Overall it is a good game. It is easy to ignore the oversized baskets but competitive play might be reduced by the easy putts. It would have been nice to have real pro players, real courses and discs. Despite what the review at stride said, there is zero chance of DLC for this title. I've never seen DLC for a sports comp title on the PS3.

I got to try this out about a week ago with the Move.  I loved it!  I agree with the goofy sized basket.  It really felt good to do a throwing motion - and to also throw a sidearm better than I'd ever be able to throw a sidearm in person.  My brother gave me a ps3 that needs the blue ray device replaced.  However, once that's done and I can afford the Move, I'm getting one for myself!  Definitely worth it :)

This topic has been dormant for a while. Has anybody been playing the PS3 game?  I tried it at  a Best Buy for a few minutes yesterday and it was pretty fun.  THe hand position on the trigger was weird as I had to use a tethered controller in the store.  I spent most of my time setting up the angle of the disc as I held the trigger to make sure I got the desired flight. I do not have a game system but was giving it some thought to getting one but the ability to play a reasonable disc golf game is still the deal breaker for me.  Until it really exists I would not be interested.  My wife was more interested in the Xbox Kinect because it requires no controller and she could easily figure out how to do a dance game.  I don't think a disc golf game exists for Kinect. So game boys and game girls... which game system would you recommend for live action gaming- wii, Kinect, PS3?  It has to have a disc golf game and other games would likely be some kind of dance/zumba thing and sports like skiing, bowling, baseball, tennis etc.  We don't want to set up a dedicated space other than our current TV viewing room which is fairly small.

I don't know if you have to be logged into gamefly to see this or not (I don't think you do), but for Dance/Music games, here is what is available on the PS3 that uses the Move...

The XBox 360 seems to have more dance games that are Kinect enabled than PS3 with the move...

The Wii, of course, has a ton to choose from since it has been available much longer:

It should be noted that the new version of the Wii (Wii U) is anticipated next year, so the number of games made for the Wii might go down while the PS3 and XBox 360 will continue to see more games produced.

The only disc golf game that I know about is the one for the PS3.  I played it again recently and still liked it despite the super huge basket.  You do spend a lot of time getting the right arm angle, and the disc bounces like a ball instead of skipping and rolling.  It was still fun.  My brother owns the Move system, so I don't get to play it often enough - but I do want to play it whenever he has his PS3 in tow!

I also like to support the PS3 because it's a blue-ray player built in.  I'm sure there are others that differ in opinion from me, but at least this should help you out some.
