2010 - B.Y.O.P. Fall "666" Tournament

i realize how short notice this is.....
but here ya go!

when: saturday oct. 16th
where: foundation park disc golf complex
time: registration starts @ 7:00 until 8:40
players meeting @ 8:45
first round starts @ 9:00
(i know this is a bit early,especially for anyone travelling,but a round at centralia can last 3hrs. that means we may not get things wrapped up until about 5:00p.m. or so and i don't want players struggling to finish in the dark.)

format: Bring your own partner for 2 rounds of 18 on the champ side of the park.
the "666" means that during each round the 1st six holes will be of a particular type, 2nd six another type and 3rd six yet another.
example: holes 1-6 best shot between partners.
holes 7-12 alternate shots thru completion of all six holes.
holes 13-18 best hole (both players complete a given hole and decide which score to mark on scorecard.)
now the above examples are not necessarily the "fixed" modes of play.
we have yet to decide on said modes and the order that they will be used.
so... if anyone has an interesting/fun way that they have played doubles before,post up and we'll consider.
It WILL be posted BEFORE tournament what modes will be used.
there will also be extra "hazards/O.B." on the course for added "fun"  during this event.
AND.... a hanging basket (like last year, on hole 17).

Remember...."it's all about the fun!!" (and challenge!  )

cost: $20 per team (this is NOT a santioned PDGA event)

payouts for top finishers in each division.
ace pool , CTP's , and games (longest drive,ring of fire) to be held between rounds.

Damn, the one weekend I absolutely cannot make it. Bummer! Sounds like a fun event. Great course to do it on.

other teams choice: they pick which lie your team plays unless you are within the circle.

what about things like mid-ranges only for a set of holes?

o.k. gang, the votes are in, the masses have spoken....
here is the modes of play and their order for the "666".

holes 1 - 6 "best shot"
you and your partner throw,choose what you believe is the "best shot" between you and throw again from that lie. repeat.

holes 7 - 12 "best score"
you and your partner play these holes out each individually and decide which of your scores you want to mark down on the card. ( bert took a 4 on hole #7, ernie took a 6. which one would you keep?)

holes 13 - 18 "alternate shots"
you and your partner "alternate" your shots starting with the drive from the tee on hole #13 until the final putt on hole #18. (bert drives from the tee on #13, ernie takes the second shot from berts lie, bert takes the third shot from ernie's lie: hits the long approach from 75'   , they mark a nice birdie 3 on the card, move on to #14's teepad; where ernie now proceeds to drive. repeat until they putt out on hole #18.)
