Oh.
My.
God.

Unbelievable.

WOW!
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

The good news is that Sinnissippi has lots of trees and I think once it gets cleaned up it won't look so bad. The bad news is that the course currently looks unplayable.

Oh, lets be a glass half full guy.  Instead of "is unplayable," how about "has new and exciting obstacles, and for safety reasons may require some temporary tees or baskets on selected holes."   :D

I'm sure for the tournament it will be cleaned up and fine. It's still almost 3 weeks away. But for a casual player just showing up at tee 1 to play a round today I think its probably unplayable.

The first pick is Hole 10 and the rest all appear to be various angles of Hole 1.  It looks like Hole 1 is pretty unplayable, but unless Nate posts more info, hard to say anything about the rest of the course.  I drove by Bevier yesterday and there were a lot of blocked fairways from downed trees.  I plan on heading out there in a bit, so hopefully its pretty well cleaned up.

There are so many trees on that course that I hope the casual observer won't even notice once it gets cleaned up.

the casual observer probably doesnt play disc golf enough to notice a change. been playing Sterling since 1994, I'm sure I would have noticed, even if the pics were not posted on here.

wish it would of taken the trees on #3's Hyzer route  ;D

That reminds me a lot of what happened to anna page a month or so ago.  It's sad to see so many trees down.  Hopefully everything gets cleaned up before the tourney that's going to be down there.  Good luck!

Its not about how many trees are down, but which ones.  It only takes 1 or 2 downed trees on most holes to ruin the hole.

I've been getting better at forehand this year, so I'm not rooting for a cleared out hyzer route on 3, Doug.  I grew up near the course and used to have a stingray anhyzer shot dialed in for that hole, but now when I go back, I struggle to throw the anhyzer without rolling it into the OB or playing it too wide OB.

I have been working on a flick myself this year.
I used to throw a roc or my XD on #3, but that last 2 years or so, I have been going the hyzer route, cause those branches hang out so far for the anhyzer, that your flirting with that drink now.  I like the hyzer alot. even if your knocked down, it's still a easy 3. go into the drink and your giving away strokes.

gosh, cant wait to get there on the 31st.  :)

I'm heading out there tomorrow.
I'll try to give a detailed account of the changes.  I'll check out the temp areas as well.

WOW!!!  Unreal!!!
The pictures just don't do justice to the devastation I saw.  First off, the front nine was closed!  You had to stop at the middle parking lot by #18's green.  Played the back nine and there was only one tree down by 15's basket.  After that, I walked down and talked to one of the Ryan's Tree Removal guys (who just happened to be a fellow disc golfer!), he said that none of the holes had changed and from my limited view, it seemed he was right.  But let me tell you, the main parking lot was filled with trees, and from the practice basket to the top of the hill on #4 was nothing but downed trees and branches.  I just couldn't tell where they all came from.  The only apparent damage to the course was a flattened picnic table and the "disc golf course" sign by the practice basket got hit.  The tree guy said no baskets or tee signs were damaged.
As far as the alternates, it looked like the green for the alternate by the baseball backstop opened up on the right side, and where the basket was normally placed.  All the rest of the alternates (of the six that I know of) looked untouched.  The cliff shot looks clean and as ready to go as ever.
It's truly amazing how nature works.  One side of the course a battlefield, and the other barely scathed.
