Time for the PDGA to tweak the World Rankings system.  http://www.pdga.com/WorldRankings

Top 10:  Doss, Will, Feldberg, Nikko, Anthon, Climo, Lundmark, Kallstrom, McCabe, Cale

Not too much argument with the top 5, although nobody is taking Will over Dave and Nikko if their life depended on it.  Serious issues with this system telling us Climo, Lundmark, and Kallstrom are better than Ulibarri and McBeth.

Climo won 1 tournament this year...the Barnett Park Championships.  He won >$1000 one time.
Lundmark won zero tournaments.  Against US competition, he finished 6th at the European Open, 11th and Stockholm, and 12th at Worlds.  In 2010, its not like he tore it up. He won the European Open and finished 15th at Worlds.  He's rated 1032.
Kallstrom had some wins in Europe this year.  When the Americans showed up, he finished 2nd in Stockholm, 12th at the EO, and 12th at Worlds.  He's rated 1031.

They are all elite players, but nobody in their right mind is taking them over Ulibarri or McBeth at any tournament.

McBeth won the Memorial and the Beaver State Fling this year and finished 3rd at the Vibram which ain't bad.  Thats an unbelievable year right there for just about any player.  If Lundmark or Kallstrom had either of those wins, it'd be the biggest wins of their career.  4 times he won over $1000 and he's rated 1033.

Ulibarri won $25000 this year on tour.  He's rated 1033.  He won the Hambrick, 2nd at the EO, 3rd at the Vibram.  He's always a contender.

My top 10 ranking based on recent performance would be:
Doss, Nikko, Feldberg, Will, Anthon, McBeth, Ulibarri, Cale, McCabe, Brinster.

Who's that guy in 62nd???  ;D

Definitely time for a tweak.  Not sure how Climo is in the top 10.  Uli posted on facebook, saying that this was the first time out of the top 10 in 2 years....thats crazy cause this has been his best year.

I'd put Wysocki somewhere on your list.  Maybe bump Cale out of there.
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

Agreed, not putting Wysocki on there was an oversight by me.

The PDGA World Rankings are purely mathematical, giving extra weight to performance at specific Majors and NTs that most of the top pros play.  If a player skips a few of the weighted tournaments, or plays poorly at them, it really hurts their ranking.  Contrariwise if they play extra well at those tournaments.  Kelsey would be 13th or 14th on the Women's charts if she played those tournaments but usually gets bumped down to the 20s.

I didn't know anyone even looked at those charts.   ;D

Taking Bruce's info into account, I find it even more bizarre that Climo is top ten considering he didn't play Worlds this year.  How far back do the rankings take into consideration?

Kelsey is now #14 on the World Rankings charts, and and only 6 of those 13 higher ranked women have higher ratings.  She loses seven spots for not playing the weighted M-NTs.

This is how her game has changed, and maybe mine too.  I used to fear playing against her on technical courses but would whip her on long open courses.  Today she beat me on a longish open course, Frankenmuth Memorial Park.  I beat her on the short technical St. Charles Municipal Park.
