They are building a new baseball field close to hole#3 so the temp holes in that area will probably change  a little. The layout for both days will probably be more similar to the 2010 layout. I'll let you know as soon as possible.

Will the out of bounds rule be the same as last year? The rule last year called for on the road to be out of bounds but over the road not being out of bounds.....basically the rule penalized a bad shot (which was good) and rewarded an even worse shot (big head scratcher). Besides that it was a great tournament!

The rule has been the same for 30 years. So yes it will remain the same this year.

That doesn't really make sense, but it works. On most of those shots if you're over the road you don't really have a good look to get back on the fairway. You're taking a stroke getting back out regardless, maybe two strokes.

CEValkyrie

I've never been too fond of that rule either.

Here is the big difference Roman. On #9 player A & B throw rollers. Player A rolls onto the street and takes a penalty. Pretty easy up and down since the disc advanced down most of the fairway. Player B throws a similar shot but it manages to cross the street. No penalty and up and down from a clear shot. It hurts as a player to get a worse score as someone who threw across the road.

especially for a State Championship. Don't reward errant shots. On or across should be used as ob. but rules are rules. and I haven't thrown ob or over the road, so I don't mind,,,, yet!   ;)

This is really not a good reason as an FYI. For the reasons Brett mentioned above it could really turn into a bad situation and it did last year with a few groups.....

I will still be there!

If it is really the fairway on both sides then I can see an argument that only the road is ob. But I still think that would be poor design choice to have a road in the middle of a split fairway. If you wouldn't consider it to be the fairway on the other side of the road then it doesn't make sense to me that you'd play it as inbounds. I've seen ball golf courses that have a creek that runs down the length of the hole with fairway on either side. Usually the designer will make the side with a better approach to be the smaller of the fairways. This rewards a better shot with a better approach. This design choice makes sense. I either have never seen this hole or don't remember it so I don't know if the far side of the road would be considered the fairway or not.

several courses in our area have a road thru the park with holes on both sides, but on or OVER the road is OB.

I don't know the hole numbers but what you posted is not the case. The two holes I specifically remember were holes that featured OB lining the right side of the fairway. Its pretty inexcusable but whatever works!
