responded to this on Craigslist but have never used it so not sure if it was actually successful but I am very interested in this.

I responded and my e-mail bounced about 24 hours later. I figure its too late.

In case anyone is looking for a cheap practice basket! ,Apparently Costco has these baskets (instep brand) for $70. If you are not a member and can purchase a giftcard, they will let non members to purchase items with costco gift cards.  There is a costco at Rte 60 and 94.

The Costco at 60/94 was out of the baskets when I went there a few weeks ago.  I had to drive down to the Costco in Glenview.  They had about 10 left when I was there.  It looks good in my backyard!  However, I am probably going to replace and add more chains.

I would suggest calling ahead to ensure they are in stock.  It is item # 631310.

The chains on the instep are good enough, but yes having a some inner chains reduces cut-throughs. The other two problems with the instep: a) nubless tray. discs can get flung if you land on the rim of the tray. b) the diameter of the tray is roughly the same diameter as the top. This increases drop outs.

When I had my instep, rather than adding an inner set of chains I tightened up the chains by running wire through about the third link from the top or so (I don't remember which I did) and drawing those in. In this manner the chains hung tighter together and were narrow in diameter. This actually caught discs better while also giving a smaller target to focus on. I know I have a picture of this setup somewhere. I'll have to find it.

They are not Instep baskets.

Clonan

Correct they are not "instep" branded but they are the same no?  From all the photos I have seen, it looks identical in every way but the color.  Even comes with the Pluto, Mercury and Saturn discs?

It came with 3 crappy discs, don't remember seeing stamps and/or names on them.

I have never seen an Instep in person, but from the pics that come up from a google search, it is definitely not the same basket.

Attached here is a pic of mine.

its really not a big deal but this is the one I saw on DGCR from a guy who bought his at costco http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37552&page=4 . It is a spitting image of the instep i have except the color.  This is why i was calling it an instep basket

The picture you have is definitley different from the inStep, the chains, the ring they are connected too at the bottom and the top are all different.  But i just wanted you to see what i was referring to.  Maybe they have changed..

Still for $70, its a good practice basket.
